Overlooking gardens, this Victorian house is just a mile (1.6 km) from the centre of Edinburgh. Everything was perfect,the check in and out is super easy, the staff is very nice and helpful, you can feel totally comfortable during your staying. The room is clean and spacious, the location is also good,you can reach many things by walk (supermarket, restaurants,attractions). Absolutely recommended!

Very friendly staff, as soon as you cross the threshold, you feel like you are visiting close friends. Everything is clean, the room had everything you needed. I was pleased with the choice of tea, coffee and milk. If you had any comments or ideas on how to improve the service, there was a questionnaire on the table. But I didn't need it because everything was going very well for me. Thank you for your hospitality.

Spotlessly clean and plenty of towels for the three of us. Although we didn't meet our hostess Alia in person, she made sure to keep in regular touch via WhatsApp and was very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!

Our room was beautiful, the staff super helpful and lovely and the location was perfect. Quiet area, but close to everything.

It was an amazing experience to stay at Straven Guesthouse. I felt at home, the bed was very comfortable and the room was beautiful and warm. Breakfast was a whole variety of delicious dishes, home made and beautiful. The sea front is only a few steps away and I enjoyed walking along the sea promenade to the cafés - and walking along the sea shore. I felt looked after and cared for by Sinead and Chris. Elizabeth was such a great host, and went out of her way to make sure I had a smooth check-in at a late time. She also helped organize my taxi at checkout. The room and all the amenities were perfect and I loved the coziness of the entire place. Not to mention, the Scottish breakfast Elizabeth made was one of my favorite breakfasts I've had! Highly recommend staying here for a friendly and genuine experience in Scotland.
