Our favourite stay in Guatemala! There are so many reasons to stay here, #1 being the family themselves. They are very friendly, all around good people. They were super welcoming, helped us with all of our plans and even invited us to join for dinner when it started raining. It was great to practice our Spanish (we are learning) and Angel was a very good teacher, helping us to improve. They made us a different breakfast each morning, including homemade tortillas. Would for sure stay here again if we found ourselves back in Guatemala. Thanks for everything!

The location was great, in central San Juan, close to both the lake side, and the town. The accommodation was easy to find, Feliciana and her sister were so welcoming. They each insisted if there was anything at all we needed, to come and find them, and I felt they genuinely meant it. My favourite thing was watching the sunrise from the garden each morning, a glorious outdoor space, it felt very private and we spent quite a lot of time there each morning. Great to have use of the shared kitchen, the shower had hot water, and everything was clean. I would very much recommend this accommodation, they were attentive, kind and generous with their time, expertise and culture.

A super comfortable bed, kind and communicative hosts. There is a kitchen with everything you need. Strong WiFi. Allowed to leave our bags as we arrived early. Lovely lovely place

If I could I would give 11/10 note. Super kind host always ready to help! I recommend the local sauna in the evening. Definitely a go to if you visit Santiago.

Posada Del Viajero - Mayan Travelers Inn er nýlega endurgerð heimagisting og býður upp á gistingu í Santa Cruz La Laguna. Gistirýmið er með verönd og útsýni yfir vatnið. I like staying with the little family, they had cute chickens and a rooster. I love the view from their house. I had a private balcony in a private apartment with shower, bathroom and dressing room; bed with bug net and a bunch of windows to see the lake outside and volcanoes.

Alojamiento San Juan er með útsýni yfir innri húsgarðinn og býður upp á gistingu með garði, í um 25 km fjarlægð frá eldfjallinu Atitlan. Super clean, 5 minute walk from main attractions. Lots of good food options close by. Owner was super kind and helpful.

Casa Qatzij - Guest House, Lake Atan er staðsett í San Lucas Tolimán, 21 km frá eldfjallinu Atitlan, og býður upp á garð, sameiginlega setustofu og útsýni yfir garðinn. Beautiful sunken living room, awesome kitchen, totally clean and well equipped. A great library. Great management. Veronica is a great manager always looking out for the guests. This place is a gem. The rooms are big , with high ceilings the beds are comfortable. Warm.

Very friendly staff and Edwin even helped with my heavy suitcase in the bumpy alley and carried it up and down the stairs. The room had everything needed, the bed was big and comfortable, and there was warm water in the shower. There’s a common kitchen to share and space to sit on the rooftop. A very short walk to the lake and the “lanchas.” Accessible to many shops and restaurants. I wish I could have stayed an extra day or two!

Casa Argentina er staðsett í San Juan La Laguna, 25 km frá eldfjallinu Atitlan, og býður upp á gistingu með garði og einkabílastæði. Lovely hotel, was better then expected. Rooms are not fancy but you have everything you need, it’s clean and the shower is hot. The family that runs it is super nice and helpful. Price/quality wise 10/10. Felt very welcome!
