Lovely attentive hosts, the Mrs is an excellent cook and we ate like kings for our two night stay - breakfasts simple and tasty, dinner an enormous rice and curry spread that could've fed and army, and the lunch box we had on our safari was a tiffin full of delicious fried rice and curry with loads of snacks and drinks. The safari our hosts organised was excellent, just the two of us in the jeep and a driver/guide who could spot an ant from a mile away. Unfortunately no leopards for us but incredible birdlife, and various other animals (spotted and barking deer, warthogs, crocs, mongooses, grey langurs etc).. They also organised very reasonably priced transfers between our accommodations afterwards. There's also a nice loop walk near the lake close to the accommodation for an evening stroll. Highly recommend this place for your time in Wilpattu.

The homestay provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Everything was perfect. The location is amazing, it felt like waking up in a little paradise with the singing and you can have a free safari just waking up a couple of meters down the road. The area is extremely safe and friendly and there are few small shops which are super convenient. On the top, the hosts, a really nice Sri Lankan family, were amazing, they prepared me a nice breakfast at the treehouse, picked me from the bus station and also drove me back early in the morning. And lastly they gave me home produced mangos. Highly recommended if you want to relax and enjoy nature.

Set 12 km from Pidurangala Rock, Swan Lake Habarana offers air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Every room has a patio with garden views. Mr Kalhara is very kind and thoughtful, it was pleasant to stay in his house! Breakfast was very good! Room is super clean. Big bed , clean bedclothes, normally working ac and fan, good hot water! Best recommendations, just book and stay here if it's possible🙂

Kumbichchan Kulama Tank is 2.6 km from the homestay, while Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is 3.8 km from the property. The nearest airport is Sigiriya Airport, 71 km from Golden Ray villa. An absolute haven close to the sacred city sites of Anuradhapura. Peaceful, set back about 75m from the road. Beautifully appointed rooms and a welcoming dining/reception area - exactly as shown in the photos on this site. What the photos do not reveal is the exceptional service and kindness of the owner and all of his staff. Nor do they convey the outstanding quality of the meals served. It is rare to find a welcoming home away from home as good as Golden Ray Villa and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Meegahapokuna Resort offers accommodation set 4.4 km from the centre of Anuradhapura and features a garden and a terrace. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house features family rooms. The host and family were simply wonderful! We arrived around 830pm after a day long road trip, hungry and tired. Kanchana prepared a satisfying meal for the four of us at such short notice. Her husband also arranged tuk tuks for us to tour Anuradhapura. The location is rustic and quiet. A lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life

I’ve stayed at Oleena Homestay before and loved it, so I’m back again. I like the serenity of the place set among trees and plants and bird songs. And the hosts, Jeewa and Masha are wonderful people with their lovely daughter Oleena. The breakfast were sumptuous and they are able to arrange savoury lunch and dinner 😋. Masha is a great cook. 😍 The garden rooms come with your own private balcony. One may have the food at the balcony or at the nice airy dining hut. Jeewa was able to arrange trips around the area. Excellent hospitality. 😊

Situated in Habarana, VISU VILLA hotel features accommodation with pool with a view, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. The property has pool views and is 10 km from Pidurangala Rock and 11 km from Sigiriya Rock. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. It was the greatest place to stay in Habarana if you are looking for a budget friendly option. The room was with a treehouse chalet. The interior of the room is perfect and well designed in an eco friendly way. The manager is so friendly and professionally helped us with A to Z. There is a nice pool anyone can enjoy. The food is amazing. There was a small boy who assisted with everything perfectly. From the property to the town is close by. They helped us with organizing a village tour that was fantastic. Per person cost was LKR 2500/- including bullock cart ride, Catemoron ride in Habarana lake, village lunch etc. Such a wonderful experience! I highly recommend anyone who would like to visit Habarana to choose Visu Villa as their stay. 🥰 I never expected this kind of a wonderful star hotel service in a budget villa like this. Make sure you put Visu Villa in your bucket list. ♥️

Well set in Anuradhapura, Water Front Home Stay is a recently renovated homestay, which provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and free private parking. Guests staying at this homestay have access to a terrace. The homestay offers garden views, an outdoor fireplace and a 24-hour front desk. The beauty of this place lies with the amazing hospitality and competence of the host Wasantha, and the delicious local meals prepared by his wife. You really feel at home the very moment you step into their house. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. The location is good, just a 20min walk away from the centre (where the central bus station and shopping opportunities are). We also arranged with Wasantha pick up in Trincomalee and drop off in Jaffna, with full day tour of the locations away from the city centre. He also helped arranging tours of the old city and Mihintale. We were very satisfied with these services and found his prices very competitive compared to other similar services we got throughout our trip in SL. A final word: remember, this is a homestay, not an hotel, and in that league it is a very good one.
