We all loved our stay with Thomasha and his family, they were all lovely and helpful with anything we needed. Thomashas wife even made us a delicious curry and rice for dinner. The building and rooms were all super colourful and cute. Brilliant location to experience a smaller local village but still able to access lots of nearby attractions

I Kataragama, bare 21 kilometer fra Situlpawwa og 22 kilometer fra Tissa Wewa ligger Mailagama Cinnamon Residence. The property was well maintained and managed well from all aspects. The staff was very helpful especially mr. Inbarajah. They also helped us cook our own vegetarian food at a separate place near dining area.

I Kataragama, 18 kilometer fra Tissa Wewa, ligger Lake Front Yala Safari, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en terrasse. My hosts couldn’t have made me feel any more welcome. They are kind and generous. As a single female traveller I felt very secure in their compound. I strongly advice you book your safari with your host. He’s a confident driver with a keen eye for leopards. Don’t think saving money will serve you well, take a private tour. The guest house is situated close to the park and near to the road the dissects the park. Take an evening safari on the road if you can. The accommodation is very clean. I found it hard to leave these lovely people.

I Bibile, 46 kilometer fra Maduru Oya nasjonalpark, ligger Nobel Regency, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en terrasse. We spent one night at Nobel Regency and it was the most unforgettable time we had in Sri Lanka. In the evening, we sat together, drank tea, played guitar, and laughed so much. The next morning, we were greeted with a beautiful, traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. Afterwards, we went with Rajew and a friend to a hidden waterfall that only locals know about. We had the entire place to ourselves and were able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere for a long time. Later, we visited his friend’s home and shared a delicious meal together. The rooms were very clean and beautifully furnished, and the value for money was absolutely outstanding. It was a truly special experience, full of warmth and genuine connection. We are deeply grateful to Ruwan from the bottom of our hearts!

Mayka's luxury holiday homes and Safari Thanamalwila ligger i Tanamalwila, med Udawalawe nasjonalpark bare 31 kilometer unna. Big room and bathroom with space to eat (so we could eat in our room instead of the restaurant upstairs, which was very cute tho...). Best wifi we had during our trip. Great location for Lunugamvehera Safari (we did not book it with them, but it seemed like we could because they also had a safari jeep). The owner speaks dutch and is very nice! We arranged a well priced tuktuk with her, that took us to Dickwella at 7 pm after our safari (about 2.30-3h drive). We enjoyed our stay and definitly recommend when visiting the Lunugamvehera side of Yala national park. Glad there was a restaurant in the hotel, because there did not seem to be much in the area (we didn't mind tho, we were only here for the safari :))

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

Bare 36 kilometer fra Kataragama tempel ligger Forest Tree Top Holiday Resort, som har restaurant, en hage, en terrasse og en bar. BEST stay on our entire trip through Sri Lanka. Truly such a unique experience. Bethiya was such a wonderful host. He was so enthusiastic during our safari tour, we had so much fun. The beds were comfortable and had bug nets. Sleeping in the woods was so relaxing, we could hear the leaves of the trees rustling in the night. The food was INCREDIBLE. Such a great price. I recommend this place to everyone.

Ethili Lake view & Safari Camp ligger 47 kilometer fra Demodara Nine Arch Bridge og har en hage, en terrasse og romservice. Ethili Lake view & Safari Camp tilbyr både gratis WiFi og privat parkering. Peaceful and quiet in the middle of the forest. Wild animals all around. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. Service and people were fantastic.
