This is a little paradise. A big pool and lovely private chalets, right on the river which you can kayak down. Its fabulous! You're surrounded by jungle, and the food for amazing. Really loved it. The staff were friendly and sweet and we couldn't have asked for better during our last few days in Sri Lanka. This is expensive for Sri Lanka but its definitely worth it.

The host and cook is amazing and he makes delicious meals. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom is partially open air which was really cool. The hammocks and tables made it a peaceful haven. The pool was still being made when I went but it will be a really nice addition. I highly recommend this place.

Set within the forest it is an oasis of calm. The staff were friendly and keen to help. The accommodation is quirky, fairly basic but comfortable. The food was excellent and plentiful. There are a number of activities and excursions available, or you can simply relax on your veranda up in the trees. There are a number of chill out zones.

We loved the house which is full of beautiful antique furniture and has a cool veranda under a shadey neem tree. Dili is an exceptional cook and we eat the best Sri Lankan food of our trip so far. The family were so very welcoming and friendly.

We had lovely breakfast and dinner served both nights looking over the rice paddies! Bed was comfortable. AC cold and wifi good for Sri Lanka! The accommodation was perfect for us a couple who have been hostel and home stay hopping across Asia! The location is very rural which is just what we needed after hectic days of safari which was arranged by Kurumba lodge and they provided water, breakfast and lunch for us! Thanks so much we loved our stay!

The room and all the fittings feel high quality and a luxurious, a real treat when budget back packing. The nature that it is surrounded by is truly beautiful and peaceful. The perfect place to sit back and relax! What makes The Sanctuary so special is the staff. So welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Their knowledge of the animals and plants that you will see on walks around the premises is amazing, so well educated and genuine. The food cooked by mum is 10/10 and you will not leave hungry. They made our safari day so enjoyable and truly perfect!! I can not recommend this place enough, it’s a new venture for the team and they do it so well!! Thank you so much to everyone involved.

Even better than the photos and super friendly people treat you just like family. Such a clan and nicely decorated place and super comfortable beds, comforter and fluffy pillows on a soft bed. just what we needed! Also about as close as you can get to the rickshaw run start line so was a super location for us. No hot water but we didn’t even miss it.

Dinner and breakfast were exquisite Sri Lankan cuisine. The plunge pool was welcome to cool in before dinner and breakfast. Comfiest beds and pillows in Sri Lanka! We will come again!
