The included breakfast was good and filling, and contained actual protein. Room and bathroom were functional, nothing wrong with them. This is a "hidden gem," especially for the very reasonable price.

Located a 5-minute walk from the centre of Dakhla, Dar Rio Oro offers a terrace with sea views and Moroccan lounges. Excursions and guided tours can be organized at the property. Dar Rio Oro is a family run business and you are made part of the family! Warm welcome, efficient staff. Very well situated with great views overlooking the lagoon. Just a short walk into the town centre.

I arrived in Darkhla late at night, on my own and felt a little disorientated. Francoise just made me feel at home right away and made everything so simple. I have now stayed in many hotels in Darkhla and Dar Tawarta really sets itself apart by not trying to process the mass and instead focuses on quality and the individual. The bedrooms and bathrooms are incredibly clean and beautifully decorated. There is a garden where all the fruit and vegetables are grown. The staff are lovely and well cared for which creates an overall appeasing/family atmosphere throughout. The food is absolutely delicious and is a great introduction to great Moroccan cuisine. The main point here is that this is a little hidden gem that truly differentiates itself from all the big business resorts. It is peaceful, community orientated and well located which means you can still do all the activities that you would normally do during the day (worth renting a car). Francoise can definitely be proud of what she has created!
