I loved my stay at Bamboo. The location was amazing - completely surrounded by nature. All of the staff were really friendly and the breakfast was great as well. I also enjoyed the jazz night they do every Tuesday. Would highly recommend!

Situated in Morro de São Paulo, Morro Hostel e Pousada has a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property.

I fully recommend it. The views were amazing, loved to wake up and be able to practice yoga in the terrace with these views, you can even check the waves if you surf. The shared room was good, with space and the bathroom inside. Everything was clean. Also a shared kitchen where you can cook on your own. And the host Regina was very nice, welcoming and attentive, it was very easy to communicate with her and she helped me with everything I needed (even something unrelated to the hostel).

Hostel Mama Africa 2 has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Gamboa.

Mama Africa Hostel 2 is a beautiful and welcoming home with a vibrant colorful decor and a great vibe. Every detail is carefully curated, and you wake up to the sound of birds, surrounded by nature. Breakfast is fresh from the garden, and on weekends, it’s served at Casa da Cultura, where you can enjoy your meal while reading one of its many books. Lili is an amazing host, full of passionate energy and care. As a digital nomad, I found it perfect for work. Gamboa is a chill neighborhood with friendly people, great for a walk anytime. Its pristine beaches are within a short walk, or you can take the boat – balsa – to Morro de São Paulo anytime for 6 BRL. After a day out, I enjoyed a swim in the pool and stargazing at night.

Just steps from Morro de São Paulo village centre, Papagaio Hostel is 200 metres from Porto de Cima Beach and a 10-minute walk from the First Beach. It features a pool and free Wi-Fi.

I liked that the hostel was organized and clean, the breakfast was really complete and tasty. The fact that the bathroom is cleaned everyday, points for that. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that they ask for money for the keys of the room but they give it back.

Vila Pepouze Hostel features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Morro de São Paulo.

The place it’s amazing the cats around all the hostel, the vibes, how you’re welcomed by the people and volunteers. I truly recommend it and the breakfast is worth the money ❤️ The only thing that doesn’t allow me giving a 10 is the location because it’s far away from the center and you have some killer stairs to the top. If you have case with wheels 🛞, good luck 😂

This is an beautiful hostel. Flavia the lady that is running it at the moment is such a beautiful woman with a kind heart. She keeps the place in such good shape it was always very clean and comfortable. It has a wonderful terrace with a view of the tree tops. It’s a little bit outside of the village but only by five/ten minutes - something which I really appreciated to be honest. There is a lovely friendly cat, and the cooking facilities are great and spacious. The mattresses are good and the Wi-Fi too.

Great location; amazing hostel staff - particularly Ivan who is always there to help, answer any questions or just talk. Very easy to meet other travellers because of the whatsapp group and generally great facilities for a hostel! Also very clean - the daily room cleans are a god-send given the amount of sand.

Owner is so friendly, he goes out of his way to make you comfortable. Has a great view and lots of hammocks and places to chill over 3 levels. Is close to praia 1 and 2 and the light house viewpoint which are the most popular spots. Also 10 minute walk to the ferry. Great location compared to other hostels

Amazing and unique stay in the middle of the jungle! This is probably the best hostel I’ve ever been to. completely eco friendly, vegan breakfast, surrounded by nature and with amazing and welcoming staff. Though walk up to the hostel may seem long at first (10 minutes from the main square), it is always worth it. So nice to see the a different face of Morro. The bed and accommodation areas are spacious and toilets were separated to avoid noise from others. Would definitely return soon.
