The staff are very nice and helped me upgrade from the 4-bed dorm to the 3-bed dorm very easily. The upstairs balcony has a really cool view of the city and is a nice place to hang out for a few hours. The 3-bed dorm has its own toilet and some curtains, so the additional privacy/comfort is worth it for the small upgrade

    The location of the hostel was very nice close to the lake, plus you get all kitchen utensils to cook your meals, the patio was also a nice place to sit and chat. And if you are travelling by train it is close to major cities in Switzerland.

    House of harmony is a little gem of a hotel. Delicious, immaculately prepared and plentiful breakfast. Very clean rooms and very helpful, professional and courteous staff. I have no hesitation in booking again. Car park across the road is cheap (free weekends) Easy access to roads into Zurich or to nice spots by the lake.

    The place is very different from the hostels I experienced around the world. Stylish but also really cosy with very lovely and friendly owners. You find all essential things, there is a limited number of rooms so it's not that mass tourism place like HI. Still you easily meet people. You can walk for 15 minutes to the train station, but also direct hikes from the place through the wine yards and meadows are great to manage. We really enjoyed our stay and even prolonged because we liked the place so much.
