Set in Drake, Life for Life Hostel Drake Bay Home of Sea Turtle Marine Conservation Project Osa Peninsula near San Josecito Beach offers beachfront accommodation a few steps from Rincon Beach and...

It was one of my most amazing stay! The place is perfect in the middle of nowhere, you can walk around, see many macaws, cappuccino monkeys, sometimes hear hawler monkeys, coaties and many others things if your attentive! The sunset is incredible, the hostel is very clean all the time, the hammock area is incredible too with a view on the sea, there is a kitchen if you want to cook but also their restaurant. The vibe and the people that stayed also here were super nice which makes me stay longer ans longer. The staff welcomed me when I arrived by boat and showed me the way to the hostel, but also when I left someone went with me! I definitively recommend it! If you want to cook, bring all your food before coming there as there is no supermarket or you’ll have to hitchhike to another village.

Situated in Drake, GreenPoint Drake Bay has a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service.

Super friendly family and amazing food in a little piece of paradise. Rooms are simple but very comfy and I loved the breakfast view with loads of birds and a few monkeys to be seen in the trees nearby. The location is a little far from the centre so you are dependent on a taxi/car (absolutely affordable) or have a longer walk on the street. If you need it, the lovely hosts will help you organise transport if you need it.

Located in Drake, Corcovado Guest House features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi. There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service.

We had a lovely stay at Corcovado Guest House. The host Mike was very nice and had good and helpful tips about the area. The house is quietly located on the edge of the primary rainforest. We woke up one morning to a white-faced capuchin monkey in the garden! The house really exceeded our expectations!

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

We had a wonderful time in Drake. Chiba Lodge is brilliant if you are looking for budget accommodation...very basic but clean, comfortable. Our room had AC and the breakfast was delicious...a choice of 6 options. Owner really friendly and helped us to boom trips with Drake Divers which is right next door. Also, the bakery above the accomodation made lovely brioche, bread, cookies etc...Great for taking to the beach.

Great location on the hill, excellent views over the area. Quiet at night with sounds from wildlife all around. Overall a nice cabin just big enough for a family of four. Host served breakfast at 5 am on days with early tour activity. Eating your food at sunrise with macaws passing by is simply breathtaking.

It was perfect! I originally booked for just one night and ended up staying there for over two weeks! The hostel is in a great location. You are in the middle of nature but also in 10-15 minutes in the center. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food you can order in the hostel was delicious! I also booked my tours through the hostel and was very happy with them, I was very well advised. I would come back any time! 🥰

This is a no frills, budget place that is quite far removed from the action in Drake bay. It would take 45 minutes walking along a very dusty road to get to town, so we chose taxi transport every time. However, it had tons of character, was clean and quiet, felt very safe, and had interesting and friendly guests. The “private” beach was lovely. Our room had a refrigerator (but there was a communal one nearby), air conditioning and a noisy ceiling fan. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Food was good but not especially inexpensive.

Lovely hotel - everything spotlessly clean. Great location with views over the forest to the sea. The manager was extremely helpful and arranged a 4 x 4 overland transport to our next destination (Puerto Jiminez). Much quicker and cheaper than the alternative of Boat and long and expensive taxi ride.

Best hostel in the area! Staff is amazing and super welcoming. Did a bunch of tours with Sukia as well and they were all amazing. Stayed in both the bungalow and shared dorms and enjoyed both. It's a little up the road, but way quieter than by the beach, plus you pass a few restaurant and supermarkets on your way out and in. The hostel does events a couple times a week, check em out!

This accommodation is top end hostel / budget hotel category. If you were paying those prices that would be fine, but Las Cotingas markets itself as something more, which invariably disappoints. Positives: Great views from communal areas or sea view rooms; helpful staff who helped with bags from boat.
