The staff was so lovely and amazing. They were so lovely and helped me through everything I could have needed. They had surfboards at the hostel you can rent for $15 a day (cash only). They also have plenty of activities and excursions you can do. This is a prime location in my opinion. Its a 5-minute or so walk to the beach, 2-minute walk to the supermarket and laundry mat, and there are sodas and restaurants scattered in between. It's a bit far from the Santa Theresa town about a 30-minute walk or so. Not really too doable with how hot it is. The waves were great at the beach, its a pretty clean beach as well. There's plenty of shade to rest in right on the beach. Quiet and chill. Id definitely recommend it to others. Theres a lot of pros and cons to this place but if you want to surf and be on the beach. This is the place to be and you cant beat the price.

I really enjoyed staying at Ico. I think the hostel is very nice and well located, but for sure the best thing was getting to know Cami and Martu. I had a great time with them, they were very helpful and incredibly friendly at all times. Agustin was such an amazing host as well. I would have loved to stay there for much more days

Marina, the manager was a very comforting young lady, always available engaging everyone to play varies games, walking on the beach in a group and eating dinner together was very special also. I was the oldest in the group and had a lot of fun with the young travellers.

Location is the best if you are a surfer, safe parking. Unfortunately there are some drawbacks. Maintenance is needed, no screens on windows, in photos there was a hammock and a TV When we arrived there was not either. We ask about a Hammock and they said they didn’t have one… So I went and bought one. Toilet was 3 feet off ground so your feet can’t reach floor even if you are 6ft tall. Bathroom smelled bad Sewer issues. Beach was nice and property opens to beach. Decent price for location but not Luxury if thats what you want. More of a Surf Shack vibe.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Best Hostel I ever stayed at!! And I went to A LOT!! It’s such a beautiful place and family oriented vibe- the staff is amazing and so friendly! Special Thanks to the owner Harold- we miss you!! It’s been so magical, I‘ve extended my stay TWICE!! Live it there and WILL BE BACK! <3
Helpful staff (they helped us book a shuttle to Playa Del Coco), clean facilities, beautiful patio/outdoor areas to hang out, quiet, great location, coffee available in the morning, lots of lines to hang wet towels, clothes and swim suits.
Overall a nice spot for the budget traveler.
The hostel is a real old style hostel, don’t expect to come to a 4 star hotel for the price you’re paying. We had a basic simple private room with a shared bathroom, from the room you can hear everything but again it’s a hostel, that’s okay. The structure it’s very tico style. The community inside was really friendly and nice. If you’re looking for a place on a budget in Montezuma and at 1 minute from the center, this is the place to come!
simply the best hostel I’ve ever been in my life, once there you don’t want to leave. The hostel is in a perfect position, 5 min walking from the center of Montezuma so it’s super calm and fresher at night. it’s really immersed in the jungle so you can see iguanas and monkeys from the windows but still it has very good mosquito nets. the dorms are comfy and there are enough bathrooms for all guests. The breakfast is super to start your day.
The shared kitchen facilities were clean and well equipped. There are plenty of tables and comfy cushions as well as a few hammocks to relax in. Get to see the monkeys and iguanas in the trees right outside the hostel. There was a safe in our room.
Super chill vibe, great location, lovely staff. Kitchen looked great but I didn't use it. Saw monkeys playing in the trees above the hostel which was super special!
The hosts Gustavo and Regis made me feel very welcome and at ease immediately. The hostel is perfectly located in Rio, whether you like museums, party, beaches, food, walks... The hostel organizes lot of activities like a fun karaoke, so you can mingle easily and meet new people. There are many cool - day or less - trips possible to do, like hikes to magnificent view points. Also the hostel itself is just beautiful, with greenery, cosy terrace, grandeur from the past and still very ready for the 21st century! 10/10 or more!
Clean room, great location on beach and in montezuma village. nice garden to relax with seats, table and hammock and washing line to dry clothes with external shower to wash sand. Fridge and safe in room. Good value for money. Would stay here again.
