Serkan is a legend! He's got a quirky sense of humor, but always in good spirits. He even cooked us a delicious dinner. The toilet was clogged in the middle of the night, and we sent him a text and he resolved the problem just a few minutes later.
Located in Sandy Bay, a 10-minute walk from Sandy Bay Beach, Roatan Backpackers' Hostel provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

friendly, happy staff, especially the owner Dayo (probably spelt the name wrong, but that's how it is in the song)
volunteer staff exceptionally friendly, but of course that changes monthly
cleanliness exceptional
small lockers, but functional for money and passport
kitchen the most organized of any hostel ever. individual food boxes fit in cleanest, most organized fridge ever
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
We loved the location. This is the cheapest accommodation you can find so close to West Bay Beach (just a 35 min walk down the coast). The hostel is also near the heart of West End which is full of great restaurants, nice people and lots to do. The hostel cat, Queen Francis, was a joy to have around. WiFi was also pretty good. We ended up staying a few extra days because we enjoyed it so much.
- Great location on the waterfront
- Lovely, comfortable bungalows with kitchen facilities
- Kept very clean and friendly, helpful staff
- Very cheap water refills
- Great dive shop attached to hotel - professional and fun. Really nice diving, saw 3 turtles and 3 rays on 2 dives
I loved the position, it’s the only hostel in west end, rooms are clean and big, hot water ( not so common in central america!) and airconditioning. The place is 5 min walking from the village and the action but far enough to make you feel in the middle of the nature. I loved the balcony and the host makes you feel like at home. He cook also one night for us! West end is the place to stay in Roatan for backpackers
Excellent option in terms of Price-quality, it is just 2 minutes from the beach and Serkan is the best host ever🌻
The hostel is still under construction, but it has all the potential to become a great hub for backpackers and solo travellers🌴🌞
