The people were friendly and the place seemed nice and clean at first.
But when I saw the pillow without the pillowcase, I was honestly shocked. It was absolutely filthy—covered in mold. Not a small stain, but full-on mold. This is a serious hygiene issue and a complete no-go.
I had noticed a damp, musty smell while sleeping, and now I understand why. I’ve been in the tropics for a month and never experienced anything like this.
I was actually inspired to come back for a freediving course next weekend—but after seeing that pillow, I’m not stepping foot in that place again.

The bed was ok, luckily there weren’t many people when I went so the top beds were not occupied.
The location is great, facing the sea and one of the famous snorkelling spots in Amed. Good walking distance to some warungs and cafes. The breakfast is basic but ok. You can rent snorkelling equipment downstairs for the day which was nice.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Coral bay bungalows are BUDGET accommodation but they’re clean and comfortable. No tv, safe box or fridge. The staff were wonderful, the pool was nice and the food was good.
There are plenty of warungs a short walk from the hotel and the sunset day club very near.
Lovely property well located with very kind staff. Also easy and cheap to rent snorkel material.
The shared room is quite clean and well organised, you also have a lot of space to leave your belongins safely.
Maybe the best hostel/dormitory I have stayed in during my 4 months trip in Southeast Asia. Comfortable and quiet beds with big draperies for privacy. Clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff and with breakfast included. The value for money is very very good.
The hostel is located right next to the beach and there are a few great warungs/ cheap restaurants just a couple of hundred meters up the road.
The room was very spacious and clean, and there was even a free breakfast included in the price!
It was very fairly priced as well.
Great locally owned hostel with lovely friendly owners and staff.
Bunk beds had curtains, powerpoints, A/C and a fan. Free breakfast, coffee and water were a plus.
Staff helped me with transport, bike rental, laundry and local information :) great value.
Very nice hostel, close to a lot of things and activities. I slept in the dormitory and it was confortable and made in a way you could get some privacy. The staff is very nice and helpt me a lot when I forgot my phone in the cab to get it back.
a perfect good budget hostel, with air conditioning, curtains in the dorm so not too bright in the morning, nice breakfast, nice hot shower, towels provided, wifi, good location in front of a nice beach with snorkeling and next to some local and cheap food, also just next to a sunset point up to the hill.
