The room is crampped. Bathroom is small. No slippers allowed inside niether they put slippers of their own. So you have to walk bare foot inside the dirty bathroom. There are few long timers who may treat you as a thief and question your coming and going out of the hostel at night or early morning.
No charging point or study light.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Broad Lands was fantastic, clean, and had charming colonial architecture. Its location made visiting key attractions easy. A tip for future visitors: use the Metro from the airport. We found it much cheaper and more convenient on our return trip. I highly recommend this hostel for its cleanliness, charm, and convenience.
Great hostel run by super friendly staff, the rooms and bathrooms are clean, the common area is perfect for chilling and socializing, and they serve homemade meals for a very good price. The location is good and it was easy to find with the staff's directions, lots of food options nearby, and it's right next to the Little Mount metro station. The only down side for me is that it was a bit pricey for my budget, but I really enjoyed my stay ;)
We had such an amazing stay at Broad Lands. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived and the staff we happy to help with any questions we had. The chill space is so serene and the option to head to the roof top is perfect for sunset. The property is absolutely beautiful! Light, airy, beautifully restored, they’ve kept the charm of the old 50s building perfectly. It feels like a safe and cosy homestay. The room was cool comfy and clean. Would absolutely recommend for anyone staying in Chennai. Great location too.
The best part is the other guests. It's a proper backpacker hostel, with ample places to socialize with fellow travelers, Indian and foreign alike.
Power outlets for each bunk are great.
It used to be a nice place a few years ago. However, it has lost it's charm and there is absolutely no maintenance. OYO is just made it a really cheap stay with pathetic facilities.
