Great hostel. Wonderful private showers and toilets.
Very interesting place and history. Nice big kitchen and had so much fun with other trekkers.

The staff was very kind, the kitchen was equipped and the bathroom were relatively clean.
However the entrance is not welcoming, as you go down a moldy staircase. The sheets were absolutely not clean and looked like they were stored in a pile in the corner of the room. The dormitory is not very clean and the light from the common room shines directly into the sleeping area. Furthermore you don't have a lot of storage space.
We also did not have the most polite roommates (having sex in the showers, watching videos with the sound at full volume, singing at 7am, smoking in the common room,...) which may simply be a lack of luck.
The pizza is OK, while surely not amazing.
Located in Massa, 8.5 miles from Carrara Convention Center, Ostello Palazzo Nizza features views of the mountain.

Great location in a beautiful little town. Bus easily accessible, in the middle of bustling plaza at night. Great for solo travellers. Employees are lovely and attentive.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
A truly well-thought-out place with everything one might need during a stay. Common kitchens, a lot of bathrooms, a living room, and a drying room — everything comes with a nice view! The historic old town is so charming, and the hostel is just a short walk away from the castle. Massa is a great base for mountain trips and beach days. You can easily visit Pisa, Cinque Terre, Florence and much more by train.
great location on the piazza. friendly helpful staff. great kitchen & dining room facilities.
