RoheN HAKONE YUMOTO features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Hakone.

Super friendly staff and a great more traditional experience to do. Beds were comfortable with the option to have extra padding added. Breakfast was very simple but we loved the rice and miso soup. One negative the room was smaller than it looked in pictures, with the toilet also being very small.

Located in Ito, 30 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, ドックランが有る素泊まりのお宿ワンダフル provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge.

Location wise it's slightly far away if you would like to have some foods or drinks, other than that the service provided and comfortability is superb.

I love the style of this place. So simple, minimalistic, artistic in a way.

Located in Atami, 26 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, bnb+Atami Resort features views of the sea.

We contacted the property early to ask about leaving our luggage early and got no answer. On turning up early, no one was there, and no signs made sense. You have to climb 3 flights of stairs that are slippery when wet. None of the phone numbers or line phone numbers worked even on a Japanese phone. no emails got answered. Genuinely, the owners do not care at all about customers. You can arrive at 4 pm. The ipad doesn't work, so they had name and codes pinned to the door so anyone could get in if they wanted to. My pod bed had the previous occupants check-in tag still pinned with in the bed walls so no one cleans the walls or wipes them. There's 20 beds, 2 showers - 1 female, 1 male, and mixed communal sinks and toilets. The bedroom is very hot at night, even in spring with the ac. There's no ventilation in the pods, so you have to sleep with the curtain open or cook yourself. The communal area just echoes noise around the rest of the bed area, so it's very noisy, especially with loud people, or the TV on. It honestly was too much a problem staying here for the stress and the staircase. If you have issues and try to talk to the staff, he hides in the office.

Nestled a 15-minute up-hill walk or a 4-minute bus ride away from Hakone Yumoto Station, Onsen Hostel K's House Hakone offers free WiFi throughout the entire property and an open-air hot-spring bath.

The common areas were very spacious, and a well equipped kitchen the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay at K’s hostels again. Loved the outside onsen!

Situated in Hakone, a 29-minute walk from Hakone Open-Air Museum, HakoneHOSTEL1914 has a shared lounge.

The stay was really good, Kana the host was the kindest most helpful person. The hostel was very clean, great atmosphere, amenities were perfect - free coffee and tea. Right next to amazing bakery. Lots of great discounts for local attractions and the best advice ! Would highly recommend a visit.

Located in Numazu and with Senbon Beach reachable within 600 metres, 沼津ライダーハウスしんちゃん provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace.

The hostess is what makes this place stand out. She is so warm and welcoming and full of good advice about what to visit in this area. The accommodation is basic, as expected for the budget rate, but comfortable and clean. Recommend bringing ear plugs. The guest house is 20 min walk from the train station so may be less suitable for those with a lot of luggage. The beach is nearby with great views of Mt Fuji on clear days. The local fish market area is interesting and worth a visit.

One of the best hostels I have ever been to, not only in Japan, but in general. To start with, staff were incredible, hard working and always there to help if needed. Location was perfect, facilities were great, really nice atmosphere, cosy beds and great views from the living room and the roof. I originally booked two nights there, though ended up staying for six. Highly recommended! Really, deserves a 10/10 in my opinion.

Great location next to a ferry and 10 min walk from the beach. Amazing ocean view from the room and restaurant. Good dinner and breakfast. Playroom with table tennis and game machines- nice for families to avoid the heat. The hotel is a bit old, but clean, with a small open air onsen at the roof- overall, excellent value for money for a family holiday.

An ideal spot for solo female travellers en route to Tokyo. Highly recommend Atami as a place to stay for two nights. The staff at this hostel were all very friendly. Everything is very clean and feels spacious because it's so tidy. It's not too far from the beach and the station. Bed is comfortable, there's places to sit and eat and there are female-only showers and toilets.

This was such a lovely place to stay in Atami. We opted for the room with the onsen on the balcony, and we were not disappointed! Very clean, extremely friendly staff and great location - right near Atami sun beach, cafes and lovely shops. Onsen facilities were great, and very impressive breakfast buffet! Would very happily stay here again.

Nice and small place. Staff were helpful and friendly. There is a small and basic hostel on site for ¥150 per night (you don't have to pay if you don't use the onsen, regular showers are available). The common room is big and there's a great view from the roof. The capsule was bigger than in other hostels I stayed in.

Mayo and her staff were amazing. The hostel is fab, so cute and quirky. The bed was really comfy and private, with a light and sockets. I got a welcome drink and had dinner in the cafe and chatted to the staff. I felt like I was a friend rather than a guest. Great location, only 10/15 walk to the beach. Perfect for sunrise.

Great location, a few steps off the beach promenade. We came here for the option of using the kitchen and the big rooms. Being able to prepare our own meals was really convenient when on a budget. Rooms on the third floor have a great view. Spa was simple but roomy and very clean.
