I can’t say enough about this place. My cousin was visiting from the USA 🇺🇸 and I wanted to take her to a countryside area and this was PERFECT!
Clean, welcoming staff, explained the rules of the Inn and the breakfast was amazing…my only regret was not ordering the dinner menu.

Extremely friendly staff that helped us with whatever we needed. This included early check-in, letting us take towels to Kinosaki onsen, and giving tips for the area. It was a great alternative to staying for a much higher price in Kinosaki itself, though be aware that trains don't run as often as they do in larger cities.
Renting a car or staying for more than one night would be good if you wanted to do more in the area.

This was an excellent way to stay in Kinosaki Onsen without having to book an expensive Kaiseki/Ryokan experience. The room was very comfortable and within walking distance to all of the onsen.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
we love this place so much. a quiet little harbour. the day we booked had no other customers, so we could enough the whole hostel and the onsens. the dinner is extraordinary and remarkable, also the breakfast. the room is big and clean.
Really clean and modern hostel.
The staff is very friendly and you can clearly see that they take good care of the hostel. They also gave us great recommendations of nearby restaurants where we enjoyed a good dinner.
All in all, we had a super one night stay at HATAYA!
