Taketa Ekimae Hostel cue has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Taketa. The property is situated 46 km from Resonac Dome Oita, 45 km from Oita Station and 48 km from Mount Aso.

The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly. She gave us a booklet with recommendations of where to eat and a hand drawn map of what to go see. She also helped us make a dinner reservation as many restaurants were already full. The bakery downstairs had a great selection of sweet and savoury goods. The station is only a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed our stay and regretted only staying one night. We hope to come back one pday.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. This hostel was so wonderful!! The place itself is very cozy and clean, and the location is very close to the train stop. Taketa itself is a really cute town that was fun to explore! But the best thing about this hostel were the staff, who were so friendly, helpful, and kind :) I loved my stay here and would come back!

Nothing Booking dot com is equally responsible as they had not evaluated property right way it is not listed as hostel nor guest house and they are charging very high rates We had asked for egg bread as breakfast but they had no such thing. It should have listed in right way and all the information should have provided properly

Beautiful town and hostel. The vibe of this place is amazing, very cozy and homy, and the building is a very well preserved historical building. It has great installations and common áreas, the bed was also really comfy and everything was clean. They even offer a special price for the local onsen (wich I also recommend) and a welcome drink (I recommend the homemade plum sake). The hosts were incredibly friendly and they speak english. The breakfast was also really good! I only wished I could have stayed longer!!

The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. Me and my wife absolutely loved staying at this traditional Japanese house. And although traditional, the house is very well renovated, comfortable, and clean. The room was cosy, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. I intend to return to Taketa while travelling around Kyushu and I will definitely stay again at this Hostel Cue!

Staff were the friendliest and kindest people; they really made us feel welcome. The hostel was also super cozy vibes with interesting community events and a beautiful architectural design. A front-of-house bakery and an environmentally sustainable influence throughout added to the experience. Will definitely be coming back!

This was a beautiful hostel, very impressive, located in an authentic Japanese home. The owners were so lovely and are genuinely kind people who made our stay great. Breakfast was great, bread very good (because they also had a bakery). The tatami’s in the room were comfortable as well. Looking back to it we loved staying here thank you! Also I didn’t expect Taketa to be so interesting. It’s a funny little town, nice houses and beautiful rock formations. Unfortunately we didn’t have time enough to explore the area but would have loved to.

Probably the best hostel I’ve ever been to in Japan, the staff is absolutely lovely, there’s a bakery just underneath so it smells nice and breakfast has delicious bread. I even forgot something that the staff sent to me to another hotel. Best place to stay if you’re going to Mount Aso.

Best hostel I've stayed in here in Japan! An absolutely wonderful experience. The owners genuinely care about their customers. As for the location, it's very central so no need to use public transport to get to the shops and restaurants.
