Located in Jaffna, a 11-minute walk from Jaffna Public Library, Yaarl Hostels provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking.

Hope Jaffna will be better promoted and more tourists will start visiting this neglected part of the country because I loved it. For anyone who does, Yaarl is a great base. Same as most hostels in SL, it has plumbing and cleanness issues. However, you still get plenty for the money and all infrastructural shortcomings are made up for in hospitality. In addition to being solutions-oriented (e.g. sharing their phone wi-fi with guests when the hostel internet stopped working), the guys who work there are great individuals with diverse interests who can provide a lot of information on varied things. I also appreciated that they prepared local food for breakfast and changed it every day.

Looking for a hostel?
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Bertie & Hilda are the most fabulous host’s. They sent a tuk tuk to the station to collect us which was so welcome after a tiring trip. They were a wealth of information of what to do in the area & arranged a tuk tuk which was cheaper than if we sorted it out ourselves. They offered us coffee & the most delicious cake at no additional charge. Nothing was too much trouble & they kindly checked in on us to make sure that we had got to our next location safely.

Very large and clean dormitory with bathroom. Confortable bed and fans. Staff helpful and kind. 20 minutes far from jaffna railway station and 5 minutes from bus stand. Market 5 minutes walk and plenty local restaurants nearby. I enjoyed yaarl hostel very much.

Great value being right near the fort and free breakfast. Scooter hire through the hostel also really cheap. Being the only hostel in town, place to go.

The only hostel in Jaffna for backpackers. Great location in the heart of the city center and within walking distance from train or bus stand. The dorm room was quite big and spacious making the stay comfortable. Each bed even had its own fan. Met some lovely people here and had a good time exploring the city. The hostel features a kitchen where you can cook if you want.
