Great hostel with lovely staff, close to the rainforest discovery center and only a 20 minute walk from the orangutans and sunbears! Breakfast was great, staff were really helpful, especially Madeline! Would definitely recommend this place.

We got what we paid for, it was a cheaper stay and this was reflected in the facilities. Good value for money if you’re looking for a budget hotel.

The AC worked great. Our double bed and pillows were more comfortable than I expected. The location is central but that comes with constant loud music and multiple people playing music at once. This was not in control of the hostel though. Breakfast was boiled eggs, toast, and bananas. Free water was great! It’s a grimey hostel, exactly what the name is: backpackers hostel

Hostel was good located and they had tours ready to book. All-in-all shower and toilets were ok, budget-hostel-standard. Like the common area on the roof the most.

Safe and secure location in a modern sprawling gated community. The view from our 13th floor windows was impressive. The apartment is adequate for a short stay, but lacks charm or comfort. Don’t be tempted to think the location is walking distance from Sandakan city centre though - it isn’t. You will need to use Grab to get to and from anywhere (with the possible exception of the English Teahouse). Grab cars are cheap, so the cost isn’t an issue, but it adds a layer to anything you might want to do.

Perfect for the price. Great location, clean, cheap, right next to the night market and Karaoke next door. 100% recommend for all the travellers out there.

The best hostel in Bornéo! The managers are all very welcoming and nice. The hostel has nice common areas to chill and discuss. And it is situated in the best spot of the city.

Property well located downtown and near plenty of restaurants and the shore. This is a true backpackers hostel, with emphasis on common areas, so just be expecting that. The shower/toilet rooms were a bit cramped but again, is what we expected. Staff friendly. Breakfast is very basic, just bananas and toast. Area around hotel looks a bit rough but really is OK.
