The location was great, it was very easy to get around everywhere, the food was great, and the rooms felt clean and comfortable! The best part is honestly the people working here. They have become like family to me <3
I was staying here for almost a month and a half in spring of 2024 but I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did had I not bonded as hard as I did with Bishwo and Lena especially. We would eat together often, go out together, spend many late nights talking or jamming together or with other hostel guests and friends from the area, we made so much fun together! We'd spent the Newari new year together (Biska Jatra) and even took little day trips to Nagarkot for hiking and swimming.
Staying here was a very special experience for me as I am sure it was for many other guests who have had the pleasure of getting to know the Swastik Hostel crew <3 I cannot wait to come back and see everyone. So much love to you Hostel Swastik, I miss you so much, and thank you for that time.
If you are reading this, do consider staying here, I talk about this place to my friends all the time, it is very worth coming to Bhaktapur and staying at Hostel Swastik (:

I’m sorry to say this but I’m surprised that there’s no hot water and I saw one cockroach in the bathroom. The bed sheet seems not so clean with a weird smell. I left and found another hostel for taking a hot shower.

As usual everything was great.. thank you nepalaya team and amrit for the great service and great price.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Great location and great vibe. I met a lot of interesting people at Hostel Swastik that went on to become good friends. The staff are helpful and Bishwo the owner is a really great guy with interesting projects ongoing. I will never stay anywhere else except here whenever I'm in Bhaktapur.
Great location next to the main square, friendly and welcoming staff, spacious comfortable room with attached bathroom. Excellent value for money. Good food (cheap too), though it took us a day to realise that they operate as a restaurant too, they are so laid back and unassuming!
The staff was nice and helpful.. beds comfortable and the place clean enough.. good vibes to hung around the hostel and perfect location. In the outskirts of the main town, close to the bus stop. Perfect for backpackers
Super cozy and friendly hostel in a great location.
Bishwo, the owner is very helpful and knows a lot about the area.
He helped me with my indian visa and recommended the best local restaurants and places to go in Bhaktapur as well as outside the city.
The hot showers work very well and the beds are comfortable. Furthermore you can use the rooftop terrace of the guesthouse just across the streets for some amazing sunset.
Best hostel I've stayed in so far in Nepal. Great atmosphere, comfortable beds, great location, friendly staff that wants to help you in any way they can.
Great location, very lovely, helpful,
and kind owners, water refill included, relatively clean bathroom sharing spaces, hot shower, communal toilet roll and soap, cheap price (and I had a private room).
I loved the atmosphere at Swastik hostel. It's a small hostel, but it has a range of different rooms and a guesthouse with private rooms nearby. The people are very chill, spontaneous and hospitable. I felt taken care of, safe and never lonely. We discovered new parts of Bhaktapur every evening for the Dashain festival and really got the local experience thanks to the host, Bishwo. And I still feel like there is loads to discover. I will be back! 😀
The Hostel is a good place if you search for something cheaper in Bhaktapur. The owner and people there are very nice, helpful, kind and know a lot about the place and environment! They also take you to trips like a waterfall!
Great location, amazing terrace. Palden Lama was very friendly and welcoming. Nice room. Safe parking.
