One of the best place you can be in Kathmandu. They are humble, social. It feels like a home and made a lot of friends i’ll be coming back here again.😍

The staff at Alobar are amazing and the rooms were great and clean.
Only cons is that the bathroom was pretty smelly/damp (although they often are in Nepal) and the pool is so cold that you can’t swim in it.
Hostel Swastik is located in Bhaktapur, less than 1 km from Bhaktapur Durbar Square and 12 km from Patan Durbar Square. The property features a bar, as well as a restaurant serving Nepalese cuisine.

I loved my stay at Swastik! Such a personal experience as I got to speak with and get to know the owner and manager personally, who were both so friendly, fun and knowledgeable about the area. The hostel was clean and well maintained and the staff are always happy to help and genuinely want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I also met such nice and interesting people at the hostel, I can’t say I met anyone I didn’t like! The food was also amazing and really reasonably priced. I ate the best dal bhat I had in my whole Nepal visit and all the vegetables were organic and grown on the hostel’s own farm. Bhaktapur was also an incredible city with such a beautiful insight into traditional Nepali culture with the friendliest people!

I stayed here for 10 days and after trekking and before my flight home.
It's a lovely friendly hostel, hot showers, lots of different areas to sit and enjoy peace and quiet, whilst being convenient for Thamel.
Sunny and Nitesh and all the staff were always helpful. I would definitely recommend and if I ever come back to Nepal I would stay here.

This is one of my favourite hostels I've ever stayed at. The staff are awesome, so friendly and helpful. The garden is so chill, a great haven from the madness of Thamel. And the facilities have everything you need.
Highly recommend this place.

Good location right in the middle of Thamel. Helpful staff. Cleanliness was decent.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
easy to find I arrived with a warm welcome at the hostel. the a/c-dorms are spacious, comfy and spotless clean like the entire hostel. only minutes walk from the centre you can find all you need close by. amazingly friendly and helpful (little crazy) staff will assist you with all questions. thanks for everything, hope to see you again..
aah, the breakfast. delicious breakfast every morning and great food in the café attached to the hostel.
I had a great time in Budget Backpackers Hostel. The rooms were very comfortable and the owners are amazing. They're very hospitilarious, very nice and welcoming and serviceful. The food is also great. I recommend you stay here. It's new place, that's why it doesn't have many reviews, but it's definitely well located as well and it's great place to stay and good value for the money.
Best hostel what i ve ever visited. Calm location. Great restaurant in the same building where you can try intereting meals from mountains. But the best si staff. Staff is so nice and helpful and we had a lot of fun.
The team makes you feel really welcomed and the place is super cozy and peaceful. I think it might be the best hostel I ever stayed at! I had a great time here. Thank you everybody!
The best hostel in Kathmandu!!
The whole team is amazing I could feel they’re very passionate with their job and always taken care of everyone.
The breakfast was great!
I had a very pleasant stay here!
The staff is very involved and friendly! The rooms are very very nice and spacious with a large storage box/shelf for your things as well as plenty of floor space. The walking tour is fantastic and there are game nights and other social/art activities to participate in. I was never bored! By far the best hostel in Kathmandu. The showers are also nice and hot!
Hotel Patan House is in a great location, just around the corner from Darbar Square but in a quiet lane. I booked the studio apartment and it was a very cute setup at the top of an old Newari house. The apartment had two little balconies that looked out onto the courtyard. The kitchenette was spacious enough to make my own little meals when I wanted to. The staff were amazingly helpful and went the extra mile to make sure I felt safe and comfortable. Generous breakfasts.
The decoration style of this youth hostel is very fresh and beautiful. I fell in love with it almost at first sight. The hotel is in Patan, a very quiet place, and the atmosphere of the youth hostel is great! Especially Amy and Disa, thank you for helping me! There is also a cat in the hotel who is also very cute! I stayed for 5 days in a row! Fall in love with this place!
I liked the room, it has a lot of light and the bed is comfy. The host followed my request to contact me via WhatsApp (because we didn’t have a local sim)so communication was easy. It’s budget. Great location!
This is one of the best hostels I’ve ever been to. The ambience is on point. People are super friendly. There’s a small cat who is lazy like me. You can see wall paintings all around which are done by the guests. There is a ethnic cafe downstairs which offer amazing cuisines from all around Nepal. Highly recommend!
