This was a great place to stay during my time in Bethlehem, and the family was very friendly. I was going to a conference across town, and one of the hostel managers actually was willing to carpool with me back and forth. I came away feeling like a new family friend.

Bethlehem City Hostel is set in Bethlehem, less than 1 km from Church of the Nativity and a 13-minute walk from The Milk Grotto.

The whole of Palestine is suffering greatly and the fact that Elias continues to run a business as best he can in these circumstances is incredible. He kindly upgraded me from a dorm room to a private room for the same low cost . I was able to come and go as I pleased .

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Very comfortable room. Clean and well furnished. Great location for exploring the neighborhood. Felt safe and secure during our very short visit. Staff were most accommodating, even arriving early to let us in and following up to ensure everything was okay. Will certainly return.

A wonderful Hostel! The balcony with view of Bethlehem is just awesome. Everything is very spacious. The dorm room was comfortable and every bed has its own reading light and power socket. The location in Bethlehem is perfect and Bethlehem felt very safe to me. I recommend going there!

This was my second stay at the hostel as it was one of the cheapest places to stay in Bethlehem for Christmas, and is located right near where the Christmas Eve parade starts. The host provided a traditional home-cooked Christmas Eve meal for a reasonable price.

A fantastic hostel with a warm Palestinian welcome in a great location. Local bus stops are close by and the owner is very knowledgeable so it’s a great place to locate yourself if you want to travel to other areas in the West Bank. It’s also in a nice neighbourhood, so safe if you fancy heading out for food or drinks in the evening but has a good vibe within if not. Quite the Little Star of Bethlehem!
