I loved the desk setup in the private room! The complimentary coffee, excellent location, and inviting common areas made the stay even better. Since I was at the end of a three-month trip and feeling low on social energy, I appreciated that it was a relaxed space where I could comfortably keep to myself. At the same time, there was a great social atmosphere for those who wanted it. The hostel struck a perfect balance—it was lively until around 10 or 11 PM (I can’t quite remember), but afterward, it was quiet and peaceful for a good night’s rest.

Great hostel, within 5 mins walking distance to Faro airport, perfect for my early morning flight, hence my stay at this hotel was super convenient - only had to cross one road to reach the airport! Room was large, spacious bed with comfy mattress, duvet and included towel. Nice showers and shared bathroom facilities. Everything looks newly refurbished, very clean, light and airy. Has use of full kitchen, outside deck had swanky eating area, swing chair, vending machine and even a pool (but this was closed due to this time of year being windy). I had a really nice welcome by hostel staff on arrival, thank you Sara R! i would staying recommend to any traveller.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

This was the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in, the decor was simply beautiful and it had such a nice vibe. It was really well equipped and very clean. The staff were so friendly, especially Maria who was so warm, welcoming and helpful from the moment I arrived! Really good value for money, I couldn’t recommend this hostel more! I will definitely be back. Thanks again to Maria for her kindness and hospitality ❤️
Great location on the beach
Very easy to get in to the Faro centre with buses, ferry and cheap ubers
Hostel was clean, staff cleaning frequently and were very helpful
Roommates very respectful
Fantastic value for money
The staff really puts a good mood in the hostel, they are all really nice and it makes it easy to meet new people. There is everything needed (kitchen, bathroom, blankets...) and for a cheap price. Moreober, it's just in front of the municipal market !
Casa da Madalena is in a great location, especially for the airport to hostel bus, no. 16, as well as the boats to the islands and old town. Very friendly and helpful staff who named a few local authentic restaurants to eat very good food. Safe and relaxed atmosphere and easy to chat to other travellers. Pancakes great of course, and a nice way to meet everyone and have small talk or make plans for the day.
It's one of the best hostels I stayed so far, no bunk bed in female room, very spacious rooms, excellent rooftop and clean washroom.the location couldn't be better. I loved it.
it's kind of youth hostel with shared kitchen and hall; though with private bathrooms. Very new and fresh, no smell , no mold (quite typical for Portugal old houses). Very good location, nice atmosphere. It has patio. You can check in on your own if get code for the safe key box in advance.
Went to this hostel for the second time. It is very clean, the staff is super nice and it is easy to meet new people. It’s the best hostel I’ve ever been! :)
