Set in Kaohsiung, 1.9 km from Kaohsiung Museum of History, 棚棚屋室內帳篷民宿Inn features views of the city. With a shared lounge, the 2-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi.

Lots of free food and drink. Bit of a walk to Sanduo station but no biggie. Gave me early check in, very nice. Tent concept was cool, mainly as only 2 in the room (out of 5).

Single Inn-Kaohsiung Station is located in Kaohsiung, 400 metres from Liouhe Tourist Night Market and 400 metres from Kaohsiung. The rooms come with a shared bathroom.

Great location and easy to access! The little Onsen is definitely a plus! The room wasn’t soundproof and it wasn’t especially clean.

A short walk from New Juejiang Shopping Area, Uno Backpackers Inn features air-conditioned dormitories and private rooms with free WiFi.

Great Hostel. Not social though. I would have wished for more Luggage storage in the room, there was just small spaces within the sleeping capsule. I do not want to have my dirty bag next to my head. Other than that, very clean and comfortable. Sadly the woman's bathroom is not on the shared dorm floor.

Set in the heart of Kaohsiung, 2 minutes' walk from MRT Sanduo Shopping District Station (Exit 1), Flyinn Hostel offers guest rooms, self-laundry facilities and free WiFi throughout the property.

A very well set up hostel, with convenient facilities. The dorm was very clean and spacious with lots of natural light and a desk area. The bathrooms and the dining area were also really big. There is a coin laundry and dryer and a good dedicated space for hanging up clothes. The location isn't the most inspiring, but it's close to the train station and a few vegetarian food options. I didn't find it very social, but this seems to be the case at many Taiwanese city hostels.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
