Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Lovely location right on the lake all rooms have a lake view. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Lots of activities to do in the area. Only accessible by boat, there is safe parking in the village, you have to walk to the boat so try not take a lot of luggage! So quiet too.
The resort is fine but has a backpacker feeling to it. I highly recommend to arrive by boat as the roads are very bad even for Ugandan standards. The resort staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food options are limited.
Nice place but a bit overpriced. Comfortable bed with mosquito net, very calm and safe neighbourhood. Hard to find because Google Maps and OpenStreetMap have non-existing roads in Kabale. From the main road, first go to "Makanga Golf Course Polling Post", and from there continue to the hotel.
It’s a budget resort on a small island, but rooms are clean and staff is great. You won’t have flush in the toilets and electricity in the room (only available at the restaurant), Wi-Fi is unstable, but who cares - this is a place to chill for some day and disconnect. They prepare good food for a reasonable price (10-30k ugx) and help to arrange boat tours and other activities (a bit expensive).
The hostel is on the half island and has a nice view of the lake.
Owner and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Log fire in the evening. Cheap beer. Good dinner.
