Karma Hostel, is a really nice place, great vegetarian food, friendly and cozy. It's an oasis and highly recommended to anyone looking for a different and more communal stay-experience in Georgia.

It is worth staying here just for the pleasure of meeting Tsiuri herself. She is indeed the greatest tourist attraction in Zhabeshi. I wish I could take her home with me. As soon as we arrived after a long hike from Mestia she was straight into action, making us hot cups of mint tea and preparing the most delicious dinner. The soup she prepared was heavenly. Everything she makes comes from her garden, even the honey which is delicious. The fluffy pancakes in the morning were delicious with her home made jam and she provided a lunch box so we could take the breakfast leftovers for lunch. The cost was 70 lari per person for room, dinner, breakfast and lunchbox - incredible value. We stayed in a twin room, the beds were on the soft side but the duvet was so big and fluffy, it felt like sleeping in a cocoon. We were very warm and we could dry out our clothes and hiking boots next to the stove. The bathroom and toilet are spotless and also separate so there is none of the 'waiting for the shower or toilet' situation that you get when the two are combined. Hot water and great water pressure. Just heavenly. The property is well marked on maps.me and google maps - you need to walk through town, cross the river and it's on the other side of a small field on the left side of the road.

The hostess was so warm and welcoming, and very helpful with any questions. I could leave my bags there to do 4 day hike and pick up my bags when I returned.
