Located in Madikeri and with Madikeri Fort reachable within 1.6 km, ABODE Backpacker's Hostel provides a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared lounge. I stayed at the private room, and it was quite pleasant. The sunset views from the balcony were stunning, the room was spacious for one person, and the bed was comfortable.

Rooms are big, beds are solid with nice curtains.

I booked a last-minute stay at The Secret Ashram after reading great reviews, and I’m so glad I did—it was absolutely worth it. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the chef (sorry, I forgot his name) prepares delicious meals. The Chechi ensures everything is spotless. A special shout-out to Deepak, SK (Shivprasad), and Ankita—each of them is full of energy and creativity, making the experience even more memorable. Originally, I had planned to stay for just one night, but with the cozy and beautiful atmosphere, I decided to extend my stay for another day, and I’m really glad I did. On the evenings of the 24th and 25th, they organized campfires and games as part of the Christmas Eve celebrations, which added a wonderful touch to the stay.
