The Barn is in a lovely location right next to the start of the Abel Tasman with lovely sunrise views. Our group of five stayed in a four bed room and a single room. Both rooms were comfortable. Although they were small they were adequate for our requirements and priced appropriately. The single room was especially nice and came with a towel. We appreciated the communal areas and the friendliness of other people staying there. It was possible to start a soccer game with other visitors, for example. Kitchen areas are well supplied and large and the bathrooms clean. The on-site caravan producing delicious baguettes was also a bonus. We also used the parking area while we explored the Abel Tasman NP and had no problems.

So helpful and friendly and knowledgable about things to do in the area! The kitchen was clean and it was good there was fridge and freezer space.

Kaiteri Lodge er aðeins 50 metrum frá gullnum söndum Kaiteri-strandarinnar. Location within walking distance of the beach and bar/restaurant. Large clean well equipped family room.

Happy Apple Backpackers er staðsett í Motueka, við hliðina á Abel Tasman-þjóðgarðinum. Kelly the manageress was gorgeous & very helpful supplying us herbs & vegetables & fruit from her garden. I wish there were two of her !!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Shambhala. It was my third stay, the first with my partner. The location in native bush overlooking the ocean is phenomenal. I think some of the average reviews here are based on misplaced expectations. The facilities here are simple and "eco". The retreat runs mostly on solar energy and a bit of natural gas. The water is rainwater. The toilets are composting and a short walk from the main cabins. Some people might find these things off-putting, but we loved it all. The short walk down to the ocean through the meditation garden is such a nice touch and we also enjoyed the morning guided meditation. Shambhala really is one of the gems of Golden Bay and a labour of love for the owner, John. We'll definitely return.
