Beautiful and comfortable property! Katja and Ryan are wonderful hosts. Anyone who has solo-travelled can appreciate the love and effort they’ve put into their work. Highly recommend staying here whilst in Slovenia! Would also recommend hiring a car.

The host was really nice and accommodating, he let us borrow tripod and we got some really nice pictures on lake bled. Also let us leave our bags a bit after check-out which really helped with our plans for that day. The location is close to the lake and got to do many things there.

It was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our 5 day stay. The rooms were very clean & tidy. The cleaners were busy every day. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable and was able to offer some great suggestions of what to do in the local area. Nothing was too much trouble for her. There was plenty of space to relax or chat with other guests. The accommodation is ideally located in the centre of Tolmin, but it is very peaceful and you only have to walk for 3 minutes to reach the restaurants and supermarket. Hostel Hildegarden is a great place to stay.

Such a welcoming and warm place. It felt like a home! Well, it used to her grandma's home... Definitely not a "traditional hostel". It has a small capacity ; there are a couple of dorms and a couple of (double) rooms. Katja, the owner, is very friendly and gave me great recommendations for dining and sight-seeing. It's also a pet-friendly place. A couple of nights some guestrs had their dogs and Katja left dog treats for them on the breakfast table! Such a lovely gesture! Breakfast had several options. Fresh bread every morning! Katja also makes her own yogurt, which she serves for breakfast. They provide free towels (that's extra points for a hostel) and there are even shampoos and shower gels for guests. Very clean place, too!

They were so kind and helped my family when we ran into issues with our car. It was nice to be greeted and walk into a clean room. Breakfast was nice and parking was easy. I will return.
