This is a very quiet holiday apartment for 2-4 guests in a detached three-storey house, with no direct neighbours, in a spectacular location above the village of Feld am See, at 1000 metres above sea level, with 360° panoramic views of mountains, the valley, two lakes, forests and fields, ideal for couples or families seeking a base away from hustle and bustle to explore Carinthia and enjoy summer and winter activities. Hiking and cycling trails start right by the house. The house has parking space, a garden with play equipment for children (swing, slide, sandpit, giant trampoline in summer), grill facilities, a terrace with an awning and a big 900m² garden with deckchairs and a parasol. It is on the ground floor at garden level with a separate entrance, while the owners occupy the upper two floors. All the windows afford spectacular views of the mountainous nature. The apartment has a bedroom with a double bed, a living and dining room that can be used as a second bedroom at night (two single beds, one is pulled out from under the other), with a sofa, a dining table with chairs. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette in the entrance hall. The bathroom has a shower bath.
We speak English, German, French, Czech, Italian and Luxembourgish and are happy to provide guests with further information about the region, trips and activities.
Feld am See is half an hour from Villach and Spittal an der Drau, 15 minutes from the World Cup ski resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim, 45 minutes from Klagenfurt (airport). The village of Feld am See itself (1.6km away down a little road) has a lake with a grass beach and boat/pedalo hire, a fish farm where you can buy freshly caught local fish, an animal park ideal for families, a few restaurants and cafés, a sports school with bicycle rental, tennis courts and sailing courses. The nearest grocery shops (seven little supermarkets) are in the neighbouring villages of Afritz and Radenthein (5km). Recommended trips and attractions in the region (all within 15-45 minutes by car): cable cars, lakes (Millstätter See, Weissensee, Faaker See ... with boat hire and swimming), Heidi Park for children, Nockalmstrasse scenic toll road through Nockberge National Park, Maltatal with a dam and the highest waterfall in Carinthia, Villacher Alpenstrasse scenic road, Minimundus in Klagenfurt. In winter the World Cup ski resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim is just 15 minutes away and you can benefit from a 20% price reduction on ski passes. The region is ideal for hiking and cycling during the warm season.
