The Abbey on Main offers visitors to the Huon Valley a luxury self contained accommodation experience and is conveniently located in the centre of Franklin. This heritage listed property provides accommodation for up to four guests and has an open plan living space with separate lounge, formal dining, reading areas, a fully appointed kitchen with laundry and private outdoor gardens. Abbey on Main overlooks the beautiful Huon River and is a short walk from local restaurants and cafes.
I relocated to beautiful Tasmania in March 2017, but have previously hosted short term accommodation businesses in Queensland for more than seven years. I was attracted to the lifestyle in Tasmania and the wonderful produce available in the Huon Valley region. Your hosts - Gavin and Wendy are generally available on site to assist with local information, transport timetables and other details of 'What's On' in the Huon Valley. Gavin also owns and manages the Exchange Hotel in Beaconsfield, Northern Tasmania. Centrally located in the Tamar Valley wine region, this hotel is a perfect base for discovering all of the great wineries and food outlets in the Northern region.
Only 35 minutes from Hobart, The Abbey on Main is centrally located in the small historic town of Franklin overlooking the beautiful Huon River. In 2016 Franklin celebrated its 180th anniversary and is now a popular tourist village, as well as a must see destination for self-drive visitors.
