Set in Pelican Lagoon in the Kangaroo Island region and Island Beach reachable within 1.2 km, Island Alive Guest House offers accommodation with free WiFi, barbecue facilities, a private beach area and free private parking. We offer a shared accommodation experience in a picturesque forest setting, with wildlife on the doorstep, a conservation park next door and relaxation services on hand. Hire a cozy room in one of our 3 cabins and share the living space and outdoor seating with other guests in an opportunity for social connection. Or retreat to one of our hammocks or sitting areas scattered in the forest for peace and tranquility. The main living cabin is cosy and comfortable with an A/C for hot summer days and a pot-belly for winter. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher, microwave and gas stove, internet and Netflix on the smart TV. The bathroom attached to the main cabin is a unique feature with a clear perspex roof boasting views of the forest and sky. The King Ensuite room has a private bathroom and forest views. The twin room can be a double bed or two singles and the dorm room sleeps 3 with a bunk and a single bed. On site we have a 6 seater, traditional barrel sauna with forest views, and a 5 seater wood-fired hot tub. These are available to hire for EXTRA COST. Booking these facilities happens after securing your accommodation. We also offer a packages with massage, sauna and hot tub included. Please Inquire about these after booking.
I am an island local and passionate nature enthusiast. As a certified Wim Hof Method instructor I offer ice baths, breathwork, sauna and contrast therapy to the guests for those wanting a truly invigorating experience! We have created this property as a family project - a labour of love and ingenuity that has evolved over time to provide an exceptionally unique accommodation experience, one that is truly immersed in nature, disconnected from the outside world and offering a memorable Island experience. I am on site most days but live around the corner so am easily contactable to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible!
Located only a 15 minute drive from Penneshaw Ferry Terminal we are easy to access but feel secluded from the outside world. Pelican Lagoon Conservation Park borders one side of our property and guess have private access and marked trails to explore. The protected cove of Island Beach is only a 3 minute drive away, and the pounding waves of the Southern Ocean at Pennington Bay are a 14km trip down the road. Enjoy surfing, fishing, swimming and nature walks at these locations.
