The Thredbo Valley is the gateway to Kosciuskzo National Park which is famed for being home to Australias highest mountain (Mt Kosciuszko) and its unique collection of flora and fauna. Activities within the park include Hiking, Mountain Biking, Fishing and exploring the many streams and rivers that make their way through the valleys. Lake Jindabyne is the regions hub that has all the facilities you'll need including great cafes, restaurants and retail outlets. Travel Options in and out of the Snowy Mountains Region include: Car: 2 hours from Canberra, 5 hours from Sydney and 7 Hours from Melbourne Bus: Transport for NSW operates weekly bus routes from Canberra to Jindabyne coach station and private companies operate daily routes between Sydney and Canberra Air: Regional Express Airlines (REX) operates two flights per week to Snowy Mountains Airport (30 minutes drive from Jindabyne) Canberra International Airport is located two hours by car from Jindabyne (Car Hire available at the arrivals terminal)
