Our story begins back in 1995 when Ben Kelly was living and working in Darwin. Ben discovered the rich fishing grounds in the Dundee Beach region area and loved the place so much that he made regular visits over the next 20 years. Ben’s brother John was a frequent visitor too, along with friends and workmates. It was on one of those many visits that the two brothers talked of building beachfront accommodation, somewhere to chill out after an adventurous day on the ocean. They found the perfect waterfront location but not long after John lost his life in a tragic accident. Ben vowed to remember the dream he shared with his brother. He opened the doors in 2017, naming it ‘Skippers’ after his brother’s middle name. John’s memory and a brother’s love is at the heart of our place.
