Breakfast was fantastic and they were very accommodating with my special diet (celiac). Gorgeous house and area to explore. Not far from the conveniences of Harrison Hot Springs either.

The property was away from town, beautiful and forested. We loved the historic quality and craftsmanship of the house, and enjoyed Sarah and her lovely family. We were even treated to a visit by an elk, and 2 black bears who came for the apples...

The property location is beautifully nestled in the nature that surrounds it. We fell asleep to the calls of juvenal owls and woke up to ravens. The wind as it whipped through the trees made for such a beautiful rustling.

Solitude and nature abound! The 87 acre property is immediately adjacent to a 430 acre conservation area along the Harrison River. If you enjoy communing with nature, you only have to step out our front door. The Sts'ailes First Nation people (communal owners of this property) have lived in harmony with this land and all things on since the beginning of time and here at Sasquatch Crossing we truly believe in doing what we can to continue this tradition to ensure we leave our children's children a world as healthy and vigorous as possible. Our electrical needs are met by our on-site mini hydro-electric generator, we practice reduce, reuse and recycle and we use no pesticides on the property. Our commitment to environmental and cultural sustainability has proudly earned us a Silver certification with Green Tourism Canada. The large heritage home in which you will be staying was owned by the Pretty family for nearly a century and we value and show their "settler" contribution to this area in addition to our Sts'ailes art, culture and history which is displayed throughout the house.
Sorry, no actual "neighborhood" unless you count the eagles, salmon and frogs as neighbors but, within a 30 minute drive is the Hemlock Valley Ski Resort, Harrison Hot Springs and most stops on the local "Farm Circle Tour". Closer still is the Morris Valley riding stable and the Weaver Creek Salmon Spawning Channel. Under 10 minutes drive puts you at the Kilby Store and Museum and its less than 5 minutes by car to the Sandpiper Golf Resort (and their acclaimed restaurant, the "River's Edge") or to the Sasquatch Inn pub which is a cozy and friendly place to enjoy a brew and a great meal. Also within a few kilometers are the Harrison and Chehalis rivers where, depending upon the time of year you can boat, swim, fish or just walk along side and breath the fresh country air. The Sts'ailes community is just around the corner and if you are lucky enough to be here on the right weekend, traditional drumming, singing and dancing might be taking place. Sts'ailes also plays a large role in "Sasquatch Days" held in Harrison Hot Springs and both the Harrison River Salmon Festival and Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival. What's that you hear? Its nothing but the silence!
