Our property is very unique. We are an experience based destination. Where else can you sleep on top of the water with a 360 degree view of the deep sea inlet and the surrounding mountains all in a 70 year old 100ft converted tub boat. The rooms are small with bunk beds but comfortable, clean and well appointed with lots of storage drawers and cabinets. Everyone is always amazed at what a great sleep they have. Its a true experience of sleeping on a vessel yet with all the amenities. We also have good working WIFI. Relax on one of our 2 decks, lounge in the hammock, and enjoy a drink. We have a fully licensed restaurant and bar. We are most known for our food. Mostly authentic Moroccan/French. We do 2 to 4 course dinners every night and they sell out quickly so be sure to ask about reserving a seat. Life on the water is different somehow and it is this that you will experience to the fullest. You can drive to anywhere on Vancouver Island and back in a day. We are an hour drive to Ucluelet and one and a half hour drive to Tofino.
We are a fun loving couple that go out of our way to ensure you have a great experience! We love to share our stories and truly get to know everyone that comes aboard. Oh, and we love to cook, dance and laugh and pair wines and rare beers from around the world with our food.
Walk up the ramp to the Harbour Quay and enjoy a stroll with shops and vendors, walk to the Maritime Discovery Centre and the lighthouse, Get on the Francis Barkley vessel at Lady Rose Marine Services and journey down the inlet and discover Barkley Sound. We are a short walk (2 mins) to the Francis Barkley so we are an ideal place to stay if you are going aboard. Enjoy the famous salmon runs, seals sea lions and if you are lucky catch a stone throw view of the Orcas that come up and down the inlet. The weather here is always very warm in sunny in the summer and the cool breeze on the water is a welcome reprieve. Hiking trails abound, some of the best anywhere, Kite surfing is huge and mountain biking great or take the WestCoast Wild Zip line. Stand Up Paddle board is also a local favourite. Did we mention you can sit on a bench enjoying your morning coffee and watch the black bears eating the salmon only 5 minutes from us. So come aboard and experience all that Port Alberni offers.
