Our Swiss mountain chalet in the Obersaxen-Val Lumnezia valley is a unique family-friendly, kids-proofed and eco-design roof apartment (112 M2) with 3 bed- & 3 bathrooms (max. 8 Pers). The house is south-oriented, has superb 360° panoramas and is overlooking the authentic and peaceful mountain village Vignogn (1239 m) and its surrounding Alpine peaks. You enjoy from all rooms and the sunny terrace spectacular views on the most beautiful parts of the Swiss mountains.
During the winter season, guests can ski till the entry of the house (120 km slopes of the Obersaxen ski area). Other famous ski areas like Flims-Laax ( > 300 km slopes) or Brigels or Disentis are within 20-30 minutes drive reachable. A bus stop and local shop is only 1 minute away by foot. In addition, several important winter and summer hiking routes cross Vignogn.
In summer, the mountain lake "Davos Munt Badesee" is only 15 minutes away by foot, where adults and children enjoy great sun bathing and mountain relaxing. Other mountain activities like hiking, mountain-biking, e-biking, geo-touring, rafting, paragliding, golf and wellness are closeby. In spring and autumn the house is also perfect hideaway for hikers.
We are a family with two little boys and have a passion for pure, authentic and sustainable (mountain) tourism. We are connected to the Surselva region for more than 30 years and fell in love with Val Lumnezia and our eco house in Vignogn in 2014.
During our holidays we love to travel to authentic and often isolated places where there is unspoiled nature and wide panoramas, a fascinating culture and good authentic food.

Our apartment is located in Vignogn, nearby Vella, which is the administrative center of Val Lumnezia ("Valley of the Light"). Val Lumnezia is part of the Surselva region, belonging to the biggest Swiss and retro-roman speaking part of Kanton Graubunden.
Val Lumnezia is one of the most beautiful -though luckily touristically unknown- valleys of the Swiss Alps. Due to the north-south positioning, the valley is known for its soft and sunny (blue sky) climate. The valley is less touristic than other Swiss mountain areas as it lacks transit traffic. The local Swiss call it often the area for "small but exquisite tourism ("Das kleine aber feine Tourismus").
Val Lumnezia and the village Vignogn are part of the Retro-roman speaking part of Switzerland (one of the 4 official Swiss languages), although the local population in general speaks fluently German and even fairly English / French or Italian.
One of the oldest Swiss city Chur is within 40 minutes drive, Zurich within 1 hour 20 minutes and Basel within 2 hours drive.
Val Lumnezia is easily reachable by airplane (Basel / Zurich), car or public transport (train, bus). Two minutes away from the apartment is a small buss stop
