We are a Swiss-Australian family, and our household language is a unique blend of English and Swiss – what we like to call Swinglish! Philipp, originally from Lucerne, has spent most of his life in Vitznau, while Karen joined him from Australia in 2003. Together, we have twin girls, Alessandra and Maliyah, who love welcoming new faces and making new friends. Our family also includes two rescue dogs, Milla and Ossi. While Milla tends to keep to herself, Ossi occasionally likes to make his presence known! We’re a fun-loving family with a passion for traveling and connecting with people, which is one of the inspirations behind creating Chalet Oz. Welcome to Chalet Oz, located in the stunning village of Vitznau! Located on the shores of Lake Lucerne, Vitznau is a perfect vacation spot whether you enjoy being very active or like life a little slower and more relaxed. Chalet Oz is a wooden chalet built in the Zimmermann Family backyard and opened in mid 2024. We built it wood block by wood block over the summer of 2023 and have taken our time to ensure that the chalet offers you the comfort and style you are looking for during your stay. It is furnished with love and care and reflects the environment you are surrounded by – Mother Nature. With its gorgeous lake views at the front of the chalet and views to Mt Rigi at the back, you get to experience the best of both worlds. The interior design style is “Boho Australian” which incorporates the natural style of Boho plus the Flora of Australia is represented in the Artwork you will find around the chalet. Chalet Oz is fitted with all modern conveniences to ensure high comfort standards are met during your stay. Places of Interest Mt Rigi Train Ride: Step out of the daily grind, and escape to Mt Rigi. Travel in comfort by mountain rail and immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. Ride up, get off, and enjoy – it's as simple as that. Steamboat Ride on Lake Lucerne: The wonderful Alpine landscapes of Central Switzerland form the scenic backdrop to Lake Lucerne. Gently gliding over the water is one of the most relaxing and tranquil ways to experience the heart of the Swiss Alps. Hiking on Mt Rigi: Hiking on the Rigi means you have a wide range of selections from 120 kilometres of trails: from leisurely, barrier-free walking to challenging hiking. On Mt. Rigi, no matter where you decide to blaze your trail, the specular and seemingly endless views will be your loyal hiking friend.
