2-Bedroom Ocean-View Condo in Flamingo with Pool Oceanica 822 in Flamingo is a 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo overlooking a spectacular beach. It’s on the ground floor of one of Flamingo’s tallest buildings, with a hillside perch that gives it a fabulous ocean view. The open-concept main room leads from the kitchen to the dining area to the living room to the glass doors opening on the balcony — meaning the ocean view is always in sight. The fully equipped kitchen has an island with granite counters, sink and breakfast bar that allows you to prep food while looking out on the ocean. Next to that is a wooden dining table and chairs, followed by a living room with plush furniture, TV, air conditioning and ceiling fan. One unique feature of Oceanica 822: The coffee table and end table in the living room, as well as the headboard in the master bedroom, were made by sawing slices out of tree trunks, preserving their natural shape. The living room is decorated by huge photographs of tranquil seascapes with boats. And one unexpected touch is the Moorish-style arched doorway that leads from the front door to the main room. Neighbourhood information

Flamingo is a high-end beachfront community notable for its dazzling ocean views and the beautiful, hilly peninsula that just out into the Pacific, separating Playa Potrero from Playa Flamingo. Flamingo is home to a wide array of stunning homes and vacation rentals, as well as humbler lodging options, and it has restaurants, grocery stories, banks and other conveniences. Construction began in December 2019 on a state-of-the-art marina that is expected to lead to an economic boom in this already prosperous town. Other recent developments here include the opening of the 360 Splendor del Pacifico luxury condominiums on the very top of the North Ridge, plus the rebranding of the all-inclusive Flamingo Beach Resort as a Margaritaville, inspired by the lyrics and laid-back lifestyle of Jimmy Buffett. Good restaurants in town include the Coco Loco, a beachfront eatery known for its coconut drinks and standout cuisine; Marie’s, a reliable standard with a long and enticing menu; Angelina’s, featuring fine Italian dining in an elegant environment; and several options at the Margaritaville, including the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill. Flamingo was largely developed by foreigners, and it lacks the traditional Costa Rican downtown with a soccer field plaza, church and school. The heart of town is an upscale commercial plaza with stone steps, fountains, restaurants and shops. Farther away on the road to Brasilito, you’ll find smaller restaurants, hotels, banks, a Comaco hardware store, the Jungle Gym fitness center, and the upscale grocery store Super Massai. Flamingo is more or less the centerpiece of a beautiful coastline stretching from the Reserva Conchal resort in the south to the Las Catalinas resort in the north, with the more traditional Costa Rican towns of Brasilito and Potrero in between. Flamingo is within easy striking distance of several dazzling beaches, including Conchal, Flamingo, Potrero, Penca, Prieta, Sugar and Danta.
