In the 14th century, there was only a three-room farmhouse, with its floor accessible at the back by a rounded staircase. One must imagine a large pond in the present lower part of the garden, as well as a water mill, on its dike, now disappeared. Only the miller's house and the fountain remain from that time, along with a drinking trough and a wash house on the neighboring property. In 1419, Saint Vincent Ferrier, the great Dominican preacher, came to rest at the manor and left his name to the fountain. Until the Revolution, the manor belonged to noblemen, including a certain La Bourdonnais who, having left to welcome the emigrants in Quiberon in 1795, was shot on the orders of General Hoche.
