Set in Newton Stewart, Stables Guest House offers high quality accommodation with a shared lounge. Free WiFi is available and free, off-road parking is provided. At the guest house, rooms are fitted with a desk/table and a flat-screen, Freeview TV. Rooms at Stables Guest House have a garden view. All rooms feature a wardrobe. A Full English/Irish breakfast is served daily at the property. Stranraer is 35 km from the accommodation. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is 61 km from the property.
Fay and Dane have taken over the Stables Guest House after careers in teaching and IT. They have welcoming, clean, tidy facilities with a choice of double or twin rooms. For the less mobile ground floor doubles can be specified when booking. Dane & Fay love this area and have been holidaying here for many years, in Dane's case, at least 40 years. They love the walking and cycling in the area and can advise on routes. Dane is a keen amateur astronomer and can advise on great observing locations and what can be seen (if the sky is clear as well as dark!). Dane is also a Cytech level 2 qualified bike mechanic, and can help out with over-night fixes, for more serious requirements, the local bike shop is 200 meters down the road.
Newton Stewart is the 'Gateway to the Galloway Hills'. There are great facilities for walkers and cyclists, both road bikes and mountain bikes. The guest house is only 200 meters from the main Newton Stewart High Street, which has a range of shops, including an outdoor gear shop and a bike shop. There are also a range of restaurants and cafes. The Stables guest house is only 4 miles from Kirroughtree mountain biking and walking centre.
