My wife, Susan, and I (Christopher) welcome you to our lovely apartment house. I come from San Francisco, California and Susan hails from a little village in Germany. We met in 2013 while climbing the Nepalese Himalayas and have been travelling the world as much as possible ever since. We have always preferred holiday apartment rentals over hotels, so we finally took the plunge and constructed one of our own. Building this apartment house in 2018 was a dream come true for us and we’re excited to have you visit. We fell in love with Croatia during our travels and decided to build a future with a view of the stunning Adriatic Sea. We have big plans for reinvestment and, in the future, hope to have e-bikes for our guests, a boat for sunny days on the water, and tours of the incredible landscapes and national parks that exist around us. Our success this year, with your helpful feedback, will determine what projects we fund next year. Our lovely 7 apartment home was built in 2018 and opened in 2020. We are not at the sea, we are 1,5km from the sea and having a car is recommended. Walking downhill to the sea is an easy/moderate 20–25 minute hike; but walking back is all uphill and not advised. We definitely recommend our guests have a car to enjoy the area completely. Every apartment has a balcony or patio with table & chairs (some apartments have two balconies). Wi-Fi in every room; air conditioning; full size refrigerators; private bathrooms; full kitchens with all essentials (cooking utensils, pots, pans, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, & kettle). The pool is invigorating, the jacuzzi is soothing, and the sauna is wonderfully relaxing after a day of touring, shopping, & swimming in the stunningly blue Adriatic Sea. Every apartment has a dedicated parking space. All apartments have games/puzzles for kids and our e-Guidebook is a huge help when planning your holiday. We welcome family gatherings, landmark birthdays, anniversary parties, and destination wedding groups. When you rent the whole house for a group, we will include a generous discount to help stretch your celebratory budget as far as possible. For our own landmark birthdays, we used the whole house, comfortably hosting 20 of our dearest friends, and created the most wonderful memories. For us, having everyone together, on a shared holiday full of laughter, food, drink, and celebration, was happiness incarnate.

Pobri is a very quiet suburb of the Opatija Riviera and approximately 1.5km from the sea. We love being close enough to walk to the sea and far enough to be away from the noise of peak-season tourism. We have 3 grocery stores within 1.7km (the nearest is only 150 meters away). Having a car are advisable, though walking to the sea is not problem. The walking route winds through our narrow, village streets, so it takes about 20-25 minutes; but the return walk is all uphill, so expect a little more time getting back. If you don’t want to walk to the sea, the city bus runs every 30 minutes and stops just 120 meters from our gated property. There are many wonderful restaurants along the water where you may choose from a wide variety of delicious cuisines (though we recommend the fish which is caught locally ever morning and sold to the restaurants). Bikes, paddle boards, boats, snorkeling/diving equipment, and an incredible variety of tours are all available along the waterfront to provide great fun for couples, groups, and families alike. We can also recommend local currency exchanges where you should get the most favorable rates to help extend your travel budget as far as possible.
