Situato in un edificio georgiano, un tempo dimora della poesia Mary Jane Irwin, l'An Sugan è una struttura a conduzione familiare con ristorante di pesce. Situata nel cuore della storica città di Clonakilty, la struttura dista 10 minuti a piedi dal Clonakilty Museum, che vanta una mostra di cimeli di Michael Collins. An Sugan Guesthouse is located in a Georgian property adjacent to the bar and restaurant. The building is of great historical significance in Clonakilty as it was the home of Mary Jane Irwin, the poetess and wife of the Fenian, O'Donovan Rossa. During their time here, the O'Donovan Rossa's entertained many notable people including Charles Stuart Parnell who is said to have made a speech from one of the bedroom windows.

Clonakilty is a multi award winning, innovative and dynamic seaside town in the heart of West Cork. Clonakilty is famous for it's community spirit, beaches, award winning restaurants as well as an internationally renowned music scene. Lisselane golf course is situated just outside the town. For children there is the Model Railway Village which also features the Choo Choo train for a fun and unique way to view Clonakilty. Highlights in the local area are the Abbey in Timoleague and the Drombeg Stone Circle.
