The Four Winds is an eight bedroom, beautifully appointed, detached home set in 2 acres of land surrounded by farmland. Overlooking Killala Bay and the stunning Atlantic coast this lovely home offers quiet, tranquil spaces - a wonderful place for a family gathering or a get together with a group of friends. Generous accommodation includes spacious sitting room with log burner, open-plan well equipped kitchen and dining area all with stunning views all around. The house is 2 miles from Killala.
We take great pride in ensuring clear, speedy and effective communication with guests, before arrival and also by being available should guests need to contact us during the stay. There is self check-in with a key safe available that allows you flexibility and independence with your arrival time. We can, if this is requested, arrange to meet guests on arrival.
The Four Winds is a real gem. It's a superb holiday home for families or groups, for those who want to relax in a beautiful place and equally good for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. It is a perfect base to explore North Mayo Wild Atlantic Way, the Ceide Coast and the historical archaeology of this area including Killala's ancient Round Tower, Killala Cathedral and close to three local abbeys: Rathfran, Moyne and Rosserk. Local beaches and waterways offer swimming, sailing, kayaking, 'paddle and peddle' and surfing. There are mountain and forest walks and bikes for hire - for cycling on the nearby Greenway - guided foraging walks and the unmissable Victorian sea-weed baths at Enniscrone. The River Moy in Ballina offers salmon fishing on the premier salmon fishing river in Ireland. In Killala Harbour local fishing boats provide superb sea angling. Killala has great pubs, cafes and an excellent restaurant. In Ballina there is a great range of restaurants: Belleek Castle, Ice House Spa & Hotel, 3 arts centres& theatre for visual arts and music. Best of all, savour the warm welcome in the local pubs, with great food, especially sea food, and regular live music.
