We at Hawthorn Lodge, have been welcoming guests for over twenty years. Hawthorn Lodge is a "4 Star" accredited Failte Ireland Tourist Board Approved property. As we have been welcoming visitors from all over the world for a number of years. We provide breakfast menus , welcome folders and other general information, fire notices etc... in several different languages! As we are continually committed in trying to source, promote and produce Irish and local food. Our menus also showcase a list of the "food growers and producers" that we use to develop our dishes. Therefore, our guests can truly understand our commitment, with having the knowledge of what ingredients are used and where it is sourced from! Whilst being dedicated to the Failte Ireland's "Taste of Place" programme. We often have guests asking us when they arrive, our advice on where to eat. Therefore, we have compiled a local places to eat directory. Which showcases what local businesses have to offer the foodie! We are also members of the Created in Cavan Food Network. Hawthorn Lodge B&B, Belturbet is the simply the perfect get-away staycation! We would like to re-assure our Guests that Hawthorn Lodge has completed Failte Ireland's in association with the HSE, the Pandemic Safety Charter. Therefore, we have undergone the relevant infection control training. As we strive to produce and promote Irish food at its best. We at Hawthorn Lodge are proud to successfully complete Failte Ireland's, Taste the Island "Taste of Place" programme. Pledging our ongoing commitment to sourcing local Irish food and beverages. For the busy traveller or early riser, we are pleased to offer our guests, a "breakfast to go" service. We are also able to offer our guests, a "take-away lunch menu. For the discerning sports person, we have lockable units available in the grounds. Whereby, Golfers and Cyclists may wish to store their equipment.

Hawthorn Lodge is set in a beautiful rural location. However, we are only approximately a fifteen minute car journey away from Cavan Equestrian Centre. The Slieve Russell Hotel & Golf Course, Ballyconnell, is approximately a ten minute car journey away. So we are never far away from local townlands, such as Belturbet! If you fancy taking in some excercise in the fresh country air, why not take a brief walk from Hawthorn Lodge, into the picturesque village of Milltown. Where there is a local convenience store and pub. Along with St Patrick' Church, there is Drumlane Community Resource Centre. Which has a children's play area and a community garden across the road in Milltown village. Take a wander down the country lane from Hawthorn Lodge and see to your right, Drumlane Abbey and Round Tower. Which majestically overlooks Garfinny Lough. Steeped in history, it is believed to be founded by St. Colmcille, dating from 555AD! Taxis - If you will be requiring a taxi during your stay with us, we have listed on our website telephone numbers of the local taxi companies we use. Please bare in mind, as there are a limited number of taxis available and they may be in high demand, it is advisable that you make arrangements to organise your taxi in advance with the taxi company, to avoid disappointment. Local Buses - As we are located in the middle of the countryside, please be mindful that there are no direct buses from Hawthorn Lodge to any destinations. The only buses available are from Belturbet town centre that go to Cavan, Dublin, etc... Therefore, guests would need to order a taxi from Hawthorn Lodge to Belturbet town centre.
