Our farmhouse overlooks Narrowwater on Carlingford Lough, immediately below the Flagstaff viewpoint. It is a 10-minute walk from Cornamucklagh House Bar and Restaurant. (Currently open Thursday to Sunday inclusive) We are 10km from Newry, 23km from Dundalk, 3km from Omeath and 10km from Carlingford. There is a limited bus service to Newry and Dundalk (Bus Eireann 161) from Cornamucklagh House (R173) - a 10 minute walk. There is no taxi service in Omeath. You will need your own car as the bus service is very limited and there is no service on Sundays. There is easy access to woods, Cooley Mountains and shore. Towels and bed linen are provided, free of charge. We live in a separate apartment on-site
We are happy to meet with the guests and provide any support or information they need. Guests staying in the farmhouse, will have private entrance and access to private outside area.
The house is surrounded by farmland. Sheep and crops. There is a fabulous view of Carlingford Lough and the lower slopes of the Mourne Mountains. There are ample opportunities for walks / hill walks / cycling in the area. The villages of Omeath and Carlingford are connected by a Greenway (8 kilometres). There is also a Greenway from Newry to Victoria Lock (accessed 1 klm from the house. Both Greenways are very popular with walkers and cyclists. We are three kilometres from the of village of Omeath where there is a choice of grocery store. There is also a pharmacy, Post Office and 2 service stations. Also a coffee shop, fast food and Pizza outlets and small hotel. We are 6 mins by bus from the city of Newry. The bus stop is 500 metres from the house at the Cornamucklagh House pub (Ferryhill Stop). The bus stops 4 times per day each way- Route 161. check out Bus Eireann for detailed timetable.
