Jai Villa is a homestay in true sense, it was conceptualized and started in year 2016. The moment when we were having discussion on converting our home into homestay, we were hosting dinner to a friend and discussing how much we love having people at home.
The homestay has been home of host family for last 25 years. It is now on offer for guests planning to travel to Udaipur and explore it the way a local from the city would have done. We are also a good place for cultural exchange as guest staying at homestay get to witness culture, tradition of an Indian family. The cuisine that comes out from our kitchen are some exclusive recipes that have been followed for generations and are now prepared for guests. We also teach them to guests who are interested in learning them.
The homestay is equipped with all basic facilities like proper lighting, well ventilated, hot water (Geyser and Solar Water heater), AC, Wi-Fi, Mini Bar, Hairdryer, Smart TV etc. It is very well connected with public transport system and only 2.5 KMS away from railway station and Bus Stand. Finding a cab or a tuk-tuk is easy and you can ask anyone in team to get one for you.
What makes us a good choice for you is our proximity to tourist destinations like City Palace, Pichola lake, Temples, Boating points, cultural performances, Gardens and the entire Old City. We also have advantage of offering stay in a peaceful place with comfortable car parking.
On a leisurely day you can spend time at home enjoying a slow breakfast on terrace while overlooking beautiful hill ranges or you can pickup a book from our library and read it sitting on our beautiful Cast Iron furniture below an almond tree while you have a freshly grinded French press coffee which comes from family kitchen.
Jai Villa is pet friendly and we allow you to travel you with your furry friend. Everyone in family loves pets and as now we travel more because of work we follow our passion by hosting people travelling with their pets.
Jai Villa Homestay is our parental home and we have been living in it from last 25 years. My family constitutes of wife, daughter and a Son. All of us are fond of travelling. As we love travelling we started hosting to people from all walks of life. A guest once appreciated our way and said that we travel around the world sitting a our dinning table, and we 100% agree to his view.
Our family is also very fond of prepare local delicacies and family recipes for guests staying at Homestay. We are all fond of food and we love exploring different cuisines, we at time invite guests inside our kitchen and do fusion of cuisines.
Some other activities that we enjoy during leisure time are picnics with family in beautiful landscapes of Udaipur or visiting lakes to enjoy my coffee at my favorite cafes. We are also very proud of our history and we try to share it with guests over drinks and meals. We organize story telling sessions at Homestay which normally happen when the guests want to keep it easy and spend time at homestay with the host family.
Another reason what makes Jai Villa special is that we are a family of people coming from diversified backgrounds who live under one roof. The head of family my father is retired IFS and has unparalleled knowledge about wildlife of Rajasthan. My mother is a homemaker & visionary in herself, she takes care of farming at our native place and majority of food that we consume and offer comes from her farms and Kitchen.
My elder brother has worked for organisations like Oberoi's and Aman and is one of the senior people in hospitality industry of India. He is married to Rie Toyodo who is also an ex hotelier. I along with my wife take care of Homestay and are primary contact point and could be considered experts about the city as we have spent entire life here.
The two young stars at homestay are Hridayshree and Ganaditya who at times play with kids of guests and at times could be bothering guests with their childish activities.
Jai Villa Homestay is located at a central place with lakes, gardens, historical places, temples all around us. For morning walkers and early risers we have Goverdhan Sagar (1.5 Kms), Gulab Bagh (2 Kms), Dudh Talai (2.5 Kms) and Fateh sagar (7 Kms) away.
When visiting city of lakes proximity to lakes become very important and we have lakes very close to us. Nearest one being Goverdhan Sagar and Nayala Lake which are at distance of 1.5 Kms each and popular lakes like Pichola (2.5 Kms) and Fathesagar (7 Kms) are also nearby and travel time will be anywhere between 5 mintues to 20 minutes.
If you are early riser and want to see sunrise, you can drive to Karni Mata Temple (2.5 Kms) and Fatehsagar (7 Kms).
Gardens like Dudh Talai (3 Kms), Gulab Bagh (2.5 Kms), Goverdhan Sagar (1 Km), Saheliyon ki bari (6 Kms) are very close to homestay and could be accessed using car or public transport. They are between 5 minutes to 20 minutes drive from homestay.
Monuments like city palace, crystal gallery, Jag Mandir, Vintage car museum, Jagdish temple are within the range of 3-4 kms away from homestay and could be covered in a single day. Other places like Ghats of lake Pichola and cultural performances like Bagore ki Haveli is also near by. They are only 3 kms away from homestay or at less than 20 minutes travelling time.
Points which are at altitude or height from where you can enjoy bird eye view of the entire city are Karni Mata (3 Kms) or Sajjan Garh (13 Kms). They are at 10 minutes and 25 minutes travel time respectively. These places attract people looking for amazing sunset points in the city of Udaipur.
Homestay has important facilities available at walking distance. Hospital, Pharmacy, Supermarket, restaurants and food joints are at walking distance.
We are well connected with rest of city in terms of local public transport system, tuk-tuk and cabs/taxis. Rented two wheelers and self drive cars are also available nearby but they are subject to availability.
