Situated by the banks of peaceful Akan Lake, Tsuruga Resort boasts free WiFi, natural hot springs, a spa and a library. Parking is offered at a charge. The accommodation provides Japanese and Western-style rooms. Featuring scenic lake views, rooms come with cosy seating areas by oversized windows. They are fitted with a flat-screen TV, a bathtub and coffee maker. Guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll around Akan Lake or browse the in-house art gallery. The spa provides relaxing massages and sauna facilities. Hearty buffets featuring local Hokkaido ingredients can be enjoyed at Buffet restaurant. Hotel is an 80-minute bus ride from Kushiro Airport.

The name of the facility, 'Akan no Mori Tsuruga Resort Hanayuka,' will be changed to 'THE FOREST AKAN TSURUGA RESORT,' and it will have its grand opening on January 1, 2025. The former name of the facility was 'Akan no Mori Tsuruga Resort Hanayuka.' There will be no changes to room types or other details, so guests who have already made reservations can stay as planned without any modifications to their bookings. Located by the lakeside of Lake Akan in Kushiro City, the hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from both Lake Akan and the Akan Lakeside Eco-Museum Center. It is also conveniently situated 1.2 km from the Akan Lake Ainu Theater Ikor and 1.6 km from Ainu Kotan. Guests can spend the day enjoying the slopes or relax with on-site amenities such as onsen hot springs and bike rentals.
