Vinet Corporation is an IT service provider in Kumamoto, Japan, founded in 2014, specializing in Web system development for e-learning, GIS (Geographic Information System), etc. Chief Exective Officer Ryoichi Murashima is from Kumamoto City, and in addition to running the company, he also works as a consultant in the field of international cooperation, providing IT support in developing countries.
In 2020, we will move our head office to Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and start "Kikuchi Mirai Base," a co-working and life design space that will foster new community-based exchanges and expand initiatives and activities to create a new future together with local residents.
Property information
A 100-year-old house in the Fukagawa district of Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, has been renovated and is used as a workroom, shared kitchen, and guest room by visitors to Kikuchi and local residents.
As for accommodations, two Japanese-style guest rooms (maximum capacity of 4 persons) and a lounge can be used by up to 7 persons. On Saturdays and Sundays, the entire facility can be rented for an additional fee of 11,000 yen (tax included). If you wish to use the entire facility, please make an additional request at the time of reservation (the fee will be settled on-site upon check-in).
How about an outdoor garden party? Tables, chairs, tableware, and hot plates are available for one thousand yen per person (minimum of 3 people).
Notes.
*This facility does not have a 24-hour front desk service like most hotels. Our staff will guide guests on arrival and departure times, so please let us know in advance for check-in and check-out times.
*Because it is an old house, the stairs to the second floor are steep, making it difficult for people with disabilities.
*The owner will also use the shower room and shared kitchen. Please be aware of this in advance.
Neighbourhood information
The Fukagawa area of Kikuchi City, where Kikuchi Mirai Base is located, is the birthplace of the Kikuchi clan, which was active for about 450 years from the Heian Era to the late Muromachi Era, and was designated as a national historic site in 2023 as a historically important area where the first lord, Noritaka Kikuchi, settled around 1070.
The Kikuchi River watershed that spreads out in the surrounding area is known as a rich harvest of rice, and visitors can enjoy the countryside with its rural landscape on foot or by using a shared bicycle.
While the countryside is relaxing and quiet, it is also conveniently located within walking distance of supermarkets, convenience stores, drugstores, home centers, restaurants, and other amenities. The downtown area called Waifu, where Kikuchi Onsen, known for its skin-friendly "cosmetic hot springs," is located, is approximately 3 km away, and you can also enjoy delicious food and drinks made from local ingredients.
We also recommend renting a car and driving to Kikuchi Valley or Aso. Aso, one of the world's largest caldera volcanoes, is a 30-minute drive away, where you can enjoy magnificent scenery and power spots.
