Farnatchi was converted by my father, an award winning British hotelier, who spent two years turning the first three riads into a holiday home for his friends and family. Riad Farnatchi now has the feel of a beautiful, highly individual, private house, but the facilities and service of a world class 5 star “boutique” hotel.
Having worked in hospitality since university I came to Marrakech to fill in between managers initially for 2 months, that was in January 2011. I loved Marrakech and all the wonderful things it has to offer and never left! I have mede it my mission to seek out all the many exciting hidden parts of the medina and all the best activities on offer in order to give our guests the best possible experience in Marrakech.
The area around Riad Farnatchi is one of the oldest in the Medina, it is where all the goods for sale in Marrakech once arrived into the fondouks (small hotels for camels and traders to stay in). We are a 2 minute walk from the entrance to the souks and just a 1 minute walk from the Madersa Bin Yousef (one of the best examples of islamic architecture in Marrakech), the Marrakech Museum and La Maison de la Photography.
